Insanity – a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world

Wonderful… absolutely marvelous… Pride of Islamic Architecture.

I hope I get to see this one in real life before I die.

You can only paint with the colors you’re given…
…so get what you like and like what you have.

The Taj is an awesome place. I went there in '99. I have some pictures which will be posted later.

Although all these pictures are great.. there is really no picture that can do justice to a beautiful place like this. There is a Masjid to the right side. And there is also a museum on the left side of the entrance which tells you the whole history behind the place.

If anyone of you should go.. remember to take a guide with you because you will learn much more than meets the eye. For EXAMPLE.. our guide took his flashlight and put it up against the marble for us to see the light going through. That signifies that is made of the purest marble. He said "Allah-Abkar" and the sound carried inside the Taj for a full 18 seconds. He told us that there is dome built inside the outer dome. That would keep the Taj cool in the summer and warm in the winter. He said that the Minarets are intentionally built at 7 degrees OUTWARD so that if lightning should ever strike one of them... they would never fall on the Taj itself. on the backside - across the River Shah Jahan was starting to build a Black Taj. The foundation for it was laid but he never got to finish it. And all the workers to built it had their hands cut off by the Shah because he never wanted something so beautiful to ever be built again. (the dude was a bit wacko for doing that, if you ask me)

There were many more facts but we were not allowed to take our Camcorder in there. You could easily spend a whole day and barely touch the value and history of it.

Hope you guys enjoyed my insights.

Share your experiences - they cost you nothing but will make us all richer.
