1-do u read books??? **i do read but never fiction…mostly religious and urdu poetry related books **

2-do u still write poetries?? yes, i do but NOT that much…i say Ghazals whenever i go on long drives. i usually listen to old songs and if i like the meter and zameen, i start saying Ghazal on the same tune It’s easier that way because i haven’t mastered the ilm-e-'urooz. this way i compensate what i lack.

3-which kinda poetries you like most?

Ghazals, nazams, shahr-e-aashob, saaqii-naama, musaddas and rubaaiyaat

4- what u do in ur spare time?

i volunteer at a local hospital [work with Desi Seniors], read and write poetry and go out with friends for dinners etc.

5- can u cook?

yes! i’m a painDoo but i usually cook Italian for my nephew and nieces.

6- tell us about ur profession?

**i work as a post doc researcher in Horticulture.

**7- why u come on gs?? only for passing time or anyother reason?

just to pass time and help those who are interested in Urdu as best as i can..so far i see little interest.

8- how did u find gs?

accidentally! i was searching something related to poetry and i was steered to GS

10- whats ur aim in life?

to be the best i can be. firstly, to secure a teaching position which i’ve been working very hard but haven’t been lucky as of yet…Allah knows better as to why not yet! secondly, to be a good muslim, to help the needy and the infirm and the elderly. to marry and have a wunderful family like my bro has…he is my role model.

11- what u wanna do/accomplish before u die?

a family of my own!

12- whats ur future plannings?

as i said above, to secure a teaching position, iA

13- can u remind things for a longer period of time ?? or u have a short-term-memory-loss wala problem

nai nai…i’m like a haathii lol elephant never forgets but i do forgive though lol

14- GS ki ek achi baat and ek buri baat (compulsory question) ???

Good Baat: people with varied perspectives and with good understanding of things in general
Bad Things: lack of respect, use of indecent language, lack of respect for deen/ulema, acceptance of MULTIS and a few more but i think it’s enuf for now!

15- ur fav section on GS??

why do i love urdu? it’s because urdu is a language of ‘love’ due to it’s sweetness. it also has to do with where i come from and the family i belong to. Lucknow is the home of urdu and i belong to a family of poets and writers. My Dad was a great urdu poet but he preferred to be anonymous while his friends and his ustaad were renowned urdu poets like Jigar Muradabadi, AsGhar Gondvi, Firaaq Gorakhpuri etc. My Uncle was in Bollywood and wrote the Story and the Dialogues for one of India’s legendary movies…“chaudhviiN kaa chaand” which swept several Filmfare Awards for that year. i also went to India’s ONLY Muslim University called AligaRh Muslim University and that place is like second home to Urdu. i was lucky enough to be taught urdu by 3 great urdu poets…Dr Shahryaar [he wrote all the HIT Ghazals for Umrao Jaan (old)], Dr Bashir Badr, and DR Asloob Ahmad Ansari…a great urdu critique and poet.

so, it all added up and when my dad passed away i felt the urge to write my poetry so i started doing that 10 years ago and alHamdolillah i manage to become tub-bandiya lol.

one can never be satisfied and the road to learning is un-ending … i have a long way to go but my profession doesn’t allow me to do much. i hope i answered ur question. :)**
