Re: table tennis players

X2 yaar, kia yad dila ditta... all those fancy names and combination of speed/spin/carbon of rubbers and blades sigh

Re: table tennis players

bro if u miss it so much, grab a racquet and start playing again

Re: table tennis players

Tried to start it couple of years ago but no one is as ‘excited’ about TT, more friends want to play squash, racquet ball, tennis, cricket or even golf :bummer:

Re: table tennis players

I can work the ball better when I hold the racket with a penhold grip.

:chai:

Re: table tennis players

^ I didn’t know you were Chinese

Re: table tennis players

I’m a good learner :chai:

Re: table tennis players

penhold grib is awesome for loops.
btw they have developed new racquet blades where the grip is angled so u get the flexibility of the shakehand and the benefit of a penhold.

wonder how many people are still playing with the seemiller grip..that is one freaky grip, i know only one person who played with that style, threw me off, but then the wrist immobility meant his loops were not strong and then i beat him like an old drum. although i doubt i could beat a good player with that grip.

lemme see if i can find a video of seemiller grip.

Re: table tennis players

Hmmm, I guess the art is holding the bat, is it?

Re: table tennis players

holding the bat helps
but how you use it is the bigger thing.

as I tell people, my most humbling table tennis defeat was at the hand of a gentleman named christian lilleroos, who used to play for swedish junior team and later was US national team coach. he coached me briefly too for Team Stiga and in that time, to explain the benefit of proper footwork, placement and strategy versus just relying on speed and spin. he challenged me and beat me playing with his shoe. with sufficient level difference between skills, its doable and I later did it to someone I coached

thats him here..although not playing with his shoe

Re: table tennis players

^ interesting .... so he beat u with his shoe .)

Re: table tennis players

yeah, as I said, thoroughly humbling
