For the mehndi, i think if you can get wide, glass bowls, put floating candles and the heads of gerber daisies in water in those bowls. It looks really pretty, and is not too expensive.

thanks everyone for the great pictures. for the mehndi thinking candles and colours yellow, red, green...traditional colours. For the barat not sure really, im wearing red and green gharara but dnt know if to have red in the color scheme or just stick to creams and golds. The thing is dont want it to be too expensive, but also what are we going to do with 30 fish bowels at the end of the function.
would it be best to get the barat decorations done by a company, maybe a florist? dnt know really.

do the flowers have to be special kinds of flowers that stay in the water? and what is in the bottom? is it stones or gems or sand?
oh and alot of them use rose petals...where is the best place to get them from? in bulk for using as confetti aswell?

Gerber daisies will float in the water.

These are sooo pretty! And they look like they would be pretty simple to make. You could prob use a different colored flower as well.
