His profile just says Gujjar Kahn. Wonder if he is the first player from that place to play for Pakistan. Anyone?

Yasir Arafats profile says he is from Rawalpindi but I have heard him speak Potowari which suggests that he is either from Tehsil Gujar Khan or Potowar area.
Mohammed Waseem who played for Pakistan few years ago is from Mandra area (between Pindi and Gujar Khan).

India probably has an upper hand at this point since their batsmen are in form and coming straight from IPL.

This isn't quite correct. Aside from Rohit Sharma, hardly any Indian batsman from the current team made much of an impact in the IPL.
