In their the next game on Tuesday Pakistan need to win by at least 25 runs, or with about three overs to spare, against Netherlands to qualify for the second round.
as told on cricinfo.(may be someone posted it already!!)
but england can also stay behind if ned and pak's NRR is higher
Pakistan were piss poor in the field, they dropped like half a dozen catches and what i find in-excuseable was seeing the Captain laugh it off like it was no biggie.
I’ve read Pakistan need to be the dutch by 60+ runs to make the Last 8 and i don’t see that happening.
My £10 is on South Africa winning the cup.
…oh, i’m soooo out of touch, until yesterday i didn’t even know the WC was being held here and we’re the host country, how sad am i. :hinna:
younis khan = the worst captain ever
and he's a test player anywayz he has no business playing in a T20 game let alone being captain
shoib malik was far more aggressive captain and atleast he got the team to the final last year and almost almost won it aswell
How can you say that? Yes criticise the team by all means but Younis scored 46* off 31 balls yesterday. YK played well in the 2007 T20 WC too. Without his effort yesterday we might not have even reached 100.
If anything we need more players like Miandad and Yousuf in our side who can accelerate (just as well as the sloggers) playing sensible proper cricketing shots and hitting the odd boundary here and there. Ofcourse you need big hitters too but if you slog mindlessly you are more likely to end up in a deep pit. Nudging the ball into gaps and rotating the strike is just as important part of scoring as hitting the boundaries
Case in point:
Yesterday's South Africa v Scotland game
Although de Villiers (79 off 34 balls, SR 232.35) stole the show, Kallis's contribution (48 off 31 balls, SR 154.83) was just as vital in the middle overs
