What is the point really ? I mean all this analysis regarding who is going to win the T20 WC ?
I enjoy Twenty20 games just as much as the next guy and I am not speaking from some high intellectual pedestal but come on...this is a format where it can take only 2-3 big scoring overs OR just 2-3 quiet overs OR just 2-3 quick wickets to tilt the balance from one side to the other.
Even an otherwise crappy batting side like Bangladesh can fancy their chances to win against technically much stronger sides. All that the Mahmidullahs and Naeem Islams of the world have to do is to wildly slog and hope to be around for 3-4 overs.
What the IPL has taught us is that no matter how great a team you have - T20 is essentially a crapshoot - anybody can win against anybody on any given day (unless one contesting team is "exceptionally" superior/inferior in quality). Who would have thought that Bangalore RC would reach the IPL finals ?
Trying to logically scrutinize T20 games (like many of our cricket pundits are inclined to do) is like analyzing horse manure really.
Admittedly , T20 is different from horse manure in that it is entertaining. Why not leave it at that ?
