Saby, its the politicians game. Remember how it was proven that Nawaz ordered the judges to make a biased decision and how it was all proven? Now that this thing has gotten public, Benazir can use the above statement to her advantage.
Exactly. Benazir is now an internationlly convicted criminal who stands alongside despots like Marcos of the Philipines, Mobotu of former Zaire and Abacha of Nigeria in looting her nation and then hiding the money in Swiss bank accounts.
But more significantly her lecture tours around the world are going to be hit with foreign capitals shunning this convicted criminal. That has already started…Norway cancels invitation to Benazir](http://www.dawn.com/2003/08/08/top7.htm)
blah - they shud've stripped her down to the last penny and thrown her on the streets of pakistan. some positive news nevertheless.. so when are other politicians going on trial?
First, Norway cancelled her speaking engagements after her conviction, then she get’s little notice in trying to get some attention in DC during Prime Minister Jamali’s vist (which must have given her heartburn)…and now this.

Benazir denied Canadian visa
The Canadian government has refused a visa request of former PM Benazir Bhutto, APP quoted sources as saying. She was scheduled to visit Canada from September 30 to October 4, to address a human rights forum and expatriate Pakistanis. Quoting “reliable” sources, APP said Ms Benazir’s visa request was refused due to her “conviction” in a case by a Swiss magistrate. Ms Bhutto has challenged the Canadian government’s decision. —APP

Having said all that though I hope BB and her cohorts decide to quit Pakistan for ever - but I can see her coming back at some stage though!!

Well better people be looted than buy substandad defence and infrastructure facilities. The example of course would be the infamous Bofors scam in India, where kickbacks were taken to purchase substandard howitzers.
Similarly when substandard roads and bridges are built....they are selling the country wholesale...
BTW, does anybody have an idea about how much money BB made? Any action going on to recover said amount?

The President she appointed (Leghari), and the one who dismissed her, as well as NAB have said she looted at least $1.5 billion from Pakistan.
More humiliation for Benazir…

Harvard may withdraw invite to BB
The USA’s greatest Ivy League Institution, Havard, is reportedly considering withdrawing invitation extended to Benazir Bhutto for delivering a keynote address at the Havard reunion celebrations on Oct. 16. Knowledgeable sources here said that the authorities of this great seat of learning have decided to follow the suit of Canada, which denied entry visa to Benazir Bhutto on account of her conviction for corruption by a Swiss Court. They said that the invitation was extended to her much before the Swiss Court conviction but now realizing that a convicted person cannot be granted such an honour of being a keynote speaker, the organizers are giving a second thought to it. The organizers seem to be quite embarrassed on their overlooking the fact that they have inadvertently invited a person who has squarely been convicted by a court. They have reportedly decided to follow the example of Canada to avoid committing a faux pas in the annals of their glittering history.
