Swimming Costume....

Re: Swimming Costume....

stop being silly ...................or provide your references for your above statement.

Re: Swimming Costume…

jazakAllah sis…i already have posted this link in post#74. thanks btw.

Re: Swimming Costume....

I am serious too, I mean if someone is so in tune with islam that they are making swimming costumes for women that cover them fully, then why get models with ful make up and plucked eye brows (btw sint that a no no) and taking pics from an angle that is showing the ladies bums.

I know I am bad, but I am dead serious here.

Re: Swimming Costume....

So you are saying its honestly such a big deal for guys that they are bothered by this?? Looks like someone missed their morning coffee today. I could care less, actually i didn't even notice their makeup and eyebrows. I need to go back and observe with my keen eyes then. I thought the outfits were the only thing the topic called for.

Re: Swimming Costume....

ummm a hijab is to make you unattractive?
How about to keep your attractiveness (is that a word) secure for your husband?
I think we all need to figure out what a hijab is for before we go wearing silly outfits in the name of Islam.

And swimming isnt something that we'll die without. Why not just choose not to swim when men are around why make a comical spectle out of ISlam?

Re: Swimming Costume....

Plucking eyebrows is not a no no peer saab - unless your hubsy forbids it.

What a silly silly thread!

Re: Swimming Costume…

Ok haman was turkish public bath started by the ottomans, later they bacame a lesiure thing…
Hamam

Re: Swimming Costume....

Thank you Muniya baji, this what we all are trying to say but they think we are oppressing muslim woman who observe hijab and being disrespectful, etc etc

Re: Swimming Costume....

sure, I can buy that, its debatable because I have seen certain rulings etc that say it is, not that it bothers me.

similarly definition of hijab is debatable as well :)

it is a silly thread I dont have a hubsy so he cant forbid me from plucking ryrbrows to begin with :p

Re: Swimming Costume....

nope I am not bothered by it as a guy, but as a marketing professional. I am bothered by it because they are trying to sell stuff in the name of islam but cant even get that right.

the butt shot has no excuse for someone trying to sell something "islamic" and modest?

PS: I drink green tea in the morning not coffee, I am not a neandrathal :)

Re: Swimming Costume....

They should make the cloths looser.

Re: Swimming Costume....

actually.....we might.

Re: Swimming Costume....

a bit too critical some people are. even if you dont find it to be completely islamic, its certainly a step in right direction. every thing edging towards modesty is mocked on this forum.tsk

Re: Swimming Costume....

I havent read four pages so it may have been asked already but why are you fussed about finding a swimming costume anyway...

Im making the assumption that you would go swimming in a female only pool cos even with the outfit it would be haraam for you to enter a mixed pool...

So if you are going to a female pool then your awra is different...you dont need to cover your hair in the presence of other women do you?...so whats the need for the costume?...

Re: Swimming Costume....

its good to be covered in women as well. try and see it from a teenage girl's perspective. she's covered her body all along so its like a second nature to her and when she is in school (granted its girls) she is bound to be little uncomfortable wearing skimpy gear so its just an easier option for her.

Re: Swimming Costume....

And I thought husbands "forbidding" things was so 15th century. Man, i'm not going to read this topic anymore because it's making me smack my head with frustration.

Re: Swimming Costume....

Croquet...
Not really...you dony cover it at home and you wont cover it if your at a friends house...You'll cover when your in public sphere not the private sphere...when your with women theres no need to cover your hair thus no need for a swimming costume...

Re: Swimming Costume....

thats what you think, women or girls might have different opinion. secondly everybody comes from different background so it is believe me an option for extremely modest girls.

Re: Swimming Costume....

Fair enough...each to their own...

Re: Swimming Costume....

i think croquet is right..............just leave it to the girls and women......to decide...........wether they want them or not.

i wont mind wearing them on seaside(for surfing or swimming) or in a female swimming pool. They look modest as well as pretty.
