The issue is not Why it matters or not to some one. The issue is why it is the way it is being portayed?

I might get rotten eggs and tomatoes hurled my way....but you can kinda tell a little bit about the background of the person sometimes....based on their nick. Can be irritating....and I'm not saying my own nick is great. But apart from the sweet and cute variants...I'd add to the list nicks like "innocent_uzma" ...or ..."unique_sadia"..."smart_shazia"...and the child-like varieties too like"acha_bacha". GAG. What's more cringe-inducing would be guys who sport girly sorta nicks like..."Sincere_Shahzad." Eew!
Now...if it's something that contradicts your personality, that sounds more interesting. For example, I like PCG's. Pyari si gudia sounds so sweet...but since she's a tough girl...it's like a contradiction and adds a pleasant sort of humor to it.

Regarding ones personality. The online environment is with consequences where anybody can be what they want to be. I can I am gay and none of you have any way to confirm that. In a similar manner I can make comments and strike cords which lead to certain attributes taking priority in the assumptions you lot make regarding someone else's personality and traits.
The idea that one person reflects their self in their posts is a one dimensional view of the person. The way you are seen on line is a limited in many ways, with consequences and external actors. So in that regard you are literally anybody you wish to be.

That I do. Why does ones internet reputation even matter? These people are meaningless in my life. They have no value. They can say whatever they wish and its perfectly fine with me.
The question people should be asking is why does their e-reputation matter. Why do the views of nobodies on the internet - complete strangers - matter when it comes to issues of self worth and importance?
See that is what I see as truly pathetic and sad.
B/c for you, ppl online may be nobodies....but other people do find people that they become friends iwht in real life. So yes, reputation matters to some, and not to others. Its all good...just b/c someone cares about how they're perceived doesnt make them pathetic.
