I wouldn't take the Swati peoples' silence to mean appeal. They're too scared to talk, because if they do, their dead bodies are found hanging at khooni chowk, tales of which refugees from the area have been reporting.
It is convenient that they start this marriage business right after the flogging videos. And you people fall for them, yet again.
How can you accept that someone is benevolent when all previous evidence shows that they're not? You have to be in some sheer psychological denial to do that.
