SURVEY : Which Guppy do You Trust to Take Knowledge From in Religion ?

No one. I agree with Pristine. As long as I have been hhere there have been a very limited few who actually wished to give knowledge freely (reality check: Knowledge does not equal point of veiw) and I've seen an even smaller group of few who wanted that knowledge.

You know what? If they do decide to close down this place(religion) I dont think it will be a great loss. Infact, it would be quite helpful.......

Please do not take any offence, but With all due respect, Would your views have been different if this were a Shia forum ?

Didn't like my comments? So, you deleted it!

Actually, a moderator has no business endorsing who represents the views of islam on this board. In case, you have not noticed - Islam is about diversity & pluralism and MOST DEFINITELY NOT ABOUT an Islam as represented by you or the other two that you pay homage two.

What you going to do? Delete it again!
Go ahead.

Do us a favor Sentinel and ban this person. From what he has said on the board so far he’s definitely a non-muslim. I wonder why he’s so intent on poking his head into threads which deal with muslims only.

Yes, ban Faceup. He has nothing better to do than creating faults and spreading disinformation about Islam, this individual has nothing else to offer.

Ace & Serial Guppy,

Did you guys read what Pristine was talking about? Maybe you should go back and read it again. :)

120% agree

There are people on the board that are Knowledgeable but sometimes they make nosense to me, and show no sound proof. So there really isn’t one or two people i’d completly trust.

Saadia

P.S: I beleive the ISLAM teaches tolerance, and for all Guppies who want to be Good Muslims , its a Must.

and One should Accept criticism with open heart, because Prophet Muhammad(SAW) is the real example before us.

May Allah Guide us all, n Bless with Knowledge.

Dont think “you can” know “you can”

The world should BAN the Islam that you represent!

Well, I wouldn’t limit myself to 2.

Ibrahim is pretty knowledgable. Also, he answers the critics in a wonderful manner. He usually says his point in such a professional and a politically correct manner, that you can’t help but appreciate it. .

And I especially admire Fact Finder, Serial Guppy, Al-Farooq, Dr.Naveed and reza khan.

Saadia, Husnain and Aapkiamaanat also seem to be very knowledgable. Their posts are usually very authentic.

Sholay, Maasooma and secret_obsession have some really good posts to their credit, and it’s usually enjoyable reading them.

Some of the most insightful posts are by Ibrahim, Fact Finder, Serial Guppy and Dr.Naveed.

Anyways, my ** favorite ** are Serial Guppy, Fact Finder and Dr.Naveed .

** Sentinel ** is the one of the ** best ** choices for a ** moderator. ** (although he locked 3 of my threads

)

And the nastiest liars on the forum are…

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/hehe.gif

[This message has been edited by Khoon-e-Shaheed (edited April 22, 2002).]

From what is apparent from his previous posts, ** faceup is a true Shia. **

He has at other places expressed his contempt for the Sahaaba (R) and the early heros of Islam who conquered nations after nations.

He has also expressed his contempt for the Saheeh Ahaadeeth. And in line with the Shia belief, he has also tried to show that the Qur’an is not in its original form.

And, then he has spoken out some of the nastiest lies against the Wahhabis, to divide the Mainstream Muslims on imaginary lines.

So, if you join put all this together, he is a ** true Shia. **

But, he should ** NOT ** be banned.

Actually he’s one of those ** rare Shias ** who ** openly speak out ** the content of their hearts, and ** openly ** express their views regarding Islam and Mainstream Muslims. Whereas, an ordinary Shia would normally practise taqiya (** “Holy Hypocrisy” ** - that is mandated by their religion, and according to Imami Shia theology, is 90% of religion) and not attack Islam so directly, but would rather do it in a very subtle manner.

Maybe we should appreciate him for being so open and direct.

** faceup **, as long as you are relatively mild with your taqiyah, I’ll prefer you over the other Shias. Cuz., in my opinion, that is less poisonous.

Moderator, please do ** NOT ** ban him. It’s a personal request. Thank you

I would pick:

Hasnain from the ahl-sunnat point of view &

a1shah from the shia perspective

A Wizard arrives neither early nor late, but precisely when he chooses to

everyone has his own perspective of the KNOWLEDGE....
i seek knowledge from everyone here....
see what people say and then work on it yourself to find out what is true/false....

its religion - u cant trust anyone in a forum....
but u can find some guppies whose words can be taken seriously and others better ignored....

"Our Lord! forgive us our sins and anything we may have done that transgressed our duty; establish our feet firmly and help us against those that resist faith." **Quran(3:147)

Khoon,

How do you know I’m shia? As far as I know, I am a muslim. Not shia and not sunni. Muslim. can you read the words?

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/hoonh.gif

And the lies you create againt a particular sect are quite amazing. You should search for a job in one of those wahabi mosques in pakistan. I’m sure they’d accept you with open arms. Then they’d send out gunmen to kill me. But you know what? They wont kill a shia. They’d only be killing your brother…

As sentinel said, knowledge comes from the scholars but I don't think we have any scholars here, I'm not the best judge of that, in fact I think other scholars are. But for relgious guidance I would go straight to the source and if I am having difficulty interpreting I will speak to some scholarly people that I know here in London. That was a good point regarding knowledge and view point. It is not necessarily the same thing agreeing with somebody's viewpoint and saying that he/she is knowledgable. In fact, it is quite dangerous saying that someone is very knowledgable to them directly because it may interfere with their intention for doing something good on this forum or indeed in their daily affaris. Regarding the closure of this forum, I think the website will lose much from it, yes there are several disagreements between individuals and many people like inflicting their viewpoints on certain topics however it is all in the name of discussion, debate and positive criticism. I have read many posts that have enlightened me on certain issues in the past and it would sadden me to see the removal of a very good resource that is used by the various people on this forum. Given that people come from different backgrounds, religions and cultures, it is the responsibility of the users to respect the beliefs of other people and act with forced humbility. The internet can be quite deceptive in that the lack of human touch allows people to write whatever comes to mind (this is true for some people) hence not thinking of the consequences or repurcussions(sp?) of what they have put up. If there is a general understanding, to agree to disagree, then I think debate can take place in a neutral and unbiased environment which will not ram knowledge down people's throats but hopefully create a genuine thirst for knowledge in people's hearts.

"The greatest purpose of knowledge is the abundance of inspiring thoughts."

Well said mushi.

I shall be closing this thread, as too much name calling has taken place.

I did not expect it to lead to so much contoversy. Had i known, i would not have initiated it.

Sentinel.

Thank you to all those who replied in a mature and orderly manner.
