You are right, but it demonstrates an intrinsic problem shared between giving the baby up and surrogacy. The problems listed above are real and surrogates will eventually need to tell the child the truth. Especially if the baby looks like no one in the family.
Genetically, the child is the parents that gave the sperm and egg. The surrogate contributes the womb, etc.
