On the same note, I heard forgetting some surahs is actually a sin? I’ve forgotten some of the bigger ones I memorised.

Yes it is a sin, if you forgot it after you became mature. Learning the Quran and then forgetting it is a big gunnah, thats why they say being a Hafiz is a big responsibility.

As for the question, you can repeat you Surah’s as much as you need to, but it is highly encouraged to learn atleast the surah’s of the 30th para. Imagin praying 20 rakaat’s in ramadhan and only have four Kul’s to repeat

**TRUE…it’s really a BIG responsibility on the part of the HUFFAAZ to keep refreshing their Haafizah EVERYDAY.

this leads to another question: most Huffaaz memorise Qur’aan al Kareem at an early age when they are NOT even baaliGh. They memorize because their parents [usually father] had decided for them. the boy didn’t give any consent because he was too young too give one. now, after attaining the adulthood, is he still bound to honour the commitment he made as a kid? is he still gonna accrue sin if he undoes the memorization?
