A few more details are emerging. That does sound like the guy was trying to board the train to do some damage, although there is no mention of him being on the run.

The police is now saying that he was one of yesterday's bomber and he was under surveillance. If true, why didn't they nab him before he got into the tube station?

Well some Indian terrorism analyst was on CNN via British TV trying hard to explain the word "asian". He said when we say asian with reference to these current bombings its most likely a Pakistani and related to Al Qaeda. The "asian" here should not be confused with Indian or Chinese. He was explaining this to the American news anchor on CNN LOL

Exactly! Either the Brits have pretty incomptent intelligence/security services, or else as is more likely this whole thing is a frame job, and they shot him dead to stop him talking as well.

Don't be too presumptuous. He might have been seen as rushing to detonate the device and shot to avoid that. Or it could have been a panic response from the police.

well, if I were in charge and some stupid desis were blowing up trains at regular intervals, I would instruct my police forces too to preferably shoot down one asian (as in Pakistani/Al Qaeda) too many than one too few (and risk losing dozens of british persons).....it's just a matter of where you draw the line
