Though I suspect most of these statments are from Brelvi part of Sunnis, its Deoband scholars that need to be more vocal against Taliban and their tactics.
very very good observation..i have not liked the way some of barelvi leaders have talked abt wahabies and deobandis..we have to stop the spread of sectarian violence in this critical time..
deobandis ulemas have always disagreed with ttp methods and ideology of islam..tableeghi jamaat which is the most powerful religious circuit in pak is totally against ttp tactics...but problem is tht there r so many militant groups in fata and other areas tht they r not under control of any ulemas..
deobandi ulemas cannot play important role unless we come out of this war on terror..beac pro image of army is a big hurdle..if army stops drone attacks and nato supplies,then ulemas can go to fata etc to tell people not to fight against army ..in this way can isolate indian or american supported ******* like bait ullah mehsud ..
very unfortunately,army or govt is not taking deobandis ulemas on board..these ulemas and madressah students have huge love for pak..they can go to any extent to save pak..but again army and govt have too much pro american image..
i have no hesitation tht if army chief kyani goes to binoria mosque in gurumander or mufti taqi usmani madressah in korangi rather then visiting america again and again,results will be great for pak..
very unfortunately,we have no proper plan to deal with this war against indians,americans,ttp etc
