And True Sufism is simply mainstream Sunni Islam. Pious people before used to be known as Sufis. For example, Hasan al-Basri (R) or Imam Ghazzali (R) were much different from many of the “new-breed” Sufis today.
And please, Sufism should not be used to create a new “Class” of Muslims - that would be wrong. If you are a true Sufi, then you are simply a pious Muslim who is very close to Allah.
another question for u.
If sufism is from islam, then why the need to call it sufism ? i mean islam is islam.
Islam doesnt change for the reality, the reality has to be changed for the deen.
see what im saying ? why would one want to develop another paradigm ?
Just like in a class, students are graded first, second, third and so on. It might be possible that both the students coming 1st and 25th passed the exams, but the performance of the latter was certainly far more superior.
Similar is the case with an ordinary muslim and a sufi. Being a sufi is like being in the top most grades of a class and being an ordinary Muslim is like coming 25th in the class. Both would certainly pass the test and both might go to heaven, but a sufi would be much more closer to Allah and his Prophet (saw), as compared to an ordinary Muslim like me. So, there does exist atleast some difference. However, the difference is not that marked as if there were two separate religions (NauZubillah!).
I dont know if you guys would believe me or not, but, sufism is not for everyone. Its not in everyone's reach also. So, if one cannot grasp its reality then its better that he keeps quiet.
Wa Ma Alaina Illalbalagh!

Nothing wrong with that form of Sufism, (in my opinion). As long as you don’t create a seperate class, and your beliefs are the same as of authentic mainstream Islam, - I don’t see why it should be a problem
ramyssysIX do you understand the term secularism ?
i find sufis very secular.
Please.........do not be offended what im saying here. my house is full of sufi's.
But when one presents an argument, if its the truth , no amount of scrutiny should hamper its integrity, right ?

I know what you mean. But, please dont try to judge it while looking at other people. I told you before that you will be misled. If you dont understand it then leave it, just concentrate on the basics of shariah and pray to Allah that may He show you the reality as it is.

It's a very complex subject.
Just blaming or claiming is not what a "Muslim" should learns. Should he?
Especially when it is a topic concerning ISLAM and yes sufism is a part of ISLAM. And yes it all started with our PROPHET (pbuh).
Sadly, there is too much IGNORANCE around US (the Muslims).
Everything that is beyond our understanding is interpreted wrongly for our own sake.
Don't deny history, coz ISLAM is a part of history and lot more!
Regarding SUFISM you better study that topic hard. Then you might understand it. Especially reading books.
Sufism has been a victim of lots of misinterpretations!
