I am not going to argue the point of illegal occupation of land by Israel, that has been discussed many times and almost every one agress that Israel needs to remove the illegal settelments.
I am more interested in us as in we Muslims taking the repsonsibility and recognizing the cause. In my opinion the number one reason for this desperate behavior is "hopelessness". How can we help them eliminate this utter depair? maybe saudi princes will think about donating money for universities, school, computer learning centers instead of doling out money for suicide attack. maybe other Muslim countries who have these institutions will grant scholarships or free education to palestanian youth. Help them be productive, give them something to look forward to. Arm them with knowledge, fight the fight with your brains, show the world what is going on in the Israel.

2) Cease attacks on innocents.
3) Engage in tough negociations for peace.
The Palestinians will find that a fair and just peace is not that far out of reach if they change the parts of their resistance that have not worked for 40 years. There will be more friends and supporters than they can imagine....

Furthermore, once again you put the onus on the Palestinians to make comprises, similar to when you asked for the Iraqis to be put under curfew in their own country? Israel and America are the invaders and occupiers here. Similar to the way the Natives in your country were pushed into the reserves and had their land stolen from them. It is the same with the Israelis and Americans. 'Old habits die hard I suppose'.
If you honestly believe your recipe is a possibility, why not enter politics and advise the appropriate authorities of the way forward. You know as well as I do that you'll have eggs thrown straight in your face with such one sided bollocks.

I am not telling the Palestinians to compromise on anything. I think Israels settlements are wrong, and that damn wall should run along the green line.
The blind loyalty that Muslims feel toward Arafat, and the likes of Yassin is a huge part of the problem. Somehow the commentators here are able to critique every nuance of Western Politics, but it is not politically correct to criticize or demand accountablitiy from the Palestinian Leadership. The double standard is just shocking.
I for one would welcome a good faith initiative on the part of the Palestinians. Renounce attacks on innocents. Engage in the peace process,(surely if Pakistan and India can make progress, then this is possible) and most Americans would hold a gun to the head of Sharon to force a fair settlement. I would withhold every dime of support and every Security Council Veto, every military weapon, and every trade advantage if the Israeli's did not come to a swift and fair settlement.
You make it so easy for the Israelis! From Palestinians highjacking planes, shooting olympic atheletes, and bombing markets and cafe's, they just beg to be mistreated. I have said here a thousand times, I think the cause of the Palestinains is just, but the horrible nature of their tactics is so abhorent, that they cannot have my support. No rant about "root causes" or "occupation" will convince me that the tactics employed by the Palestinians are acceptable. I have seen the most elaborate rationalizations of their tactics (like bringing up the American Indians?!) to attempt to justify tactics that should just clearly be outlawed. That automatically sways me to believe that the Israeli's are "less wrong".

Israel is 100% justified in occupying every inch of Palestine and whatever piece of land they like.
But on the other hand palestinians are 100% justified in defending their land and kicking out the invaders of their land.
History is full of stories of successfull and dreadful occupation attempts.
Israel is by far is quite successful in occupying land but on the other hand very messy in controlling population.
For example, Great Britain was by far more successful in its invasion of india. They controled huge land and extraordinary population of diffrent religious backgrounds. They were great administrators and had most effective control of subcontinent for more then 100 years.
In contrast Israel is a huge military power, almost all population is in army(regular or standby), abundance of resources and backing of world’s only supperpower.
Why they are unable to tame palestinians ?
