We are gonna recite Quran in a short while to start off the celebrations. Tomorrow is mehndi in our house for people of New Orleans. Next Friday is the mehndi in NY for people over there.

Sara Impulse is right. It’ll be basically oiling and mehndi. In our family (khandaan) guys do it at their house and the girls do it at their house. However, we are doing it together here in New York. But then my girl friends in New Orleans and aunties objected because they couldn’t attend the official mehndi in New York. Therefore, mom decided to have one for people who can’t go to NY. But the one in NY will be official.
