State of the Union

Bush wants spotlight on him

It happens on the day after the first round of Democratic primaries and Bush really wants people to look his way .. I think Lautenberg snuck in a cheeky one there.. chuckle

*“I hope the president triple-checks his facts in this year’s speech, because last year’s State of the Union was riddled with misstatements and untruths,” said U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg, a New Jersey Democrat. *

It happens tonight.. corporate media outles will be broadcasting it live.

Get ready for a gut-laughing good time :D

damn, so yip yap on all major channels?... thank god for espn and fox sports..

"Don't Worry, be Happy"

As sung in top hat and tails by Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
From the Movie "Cocktails"
Performed by Bobby McFerrin

Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy......

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Lood at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy

^ yeah and who died and made you Bobby McFerrin :P

Actually they have a CIA executive who helped in writing the speech this year and supposedly they triple checked all the information and refrences. Also, he will be intoducing a new (sudo) plan for helath care....small companies band together to provide health care to the workers so it is cheaper for all concerned. I think he is banking on economy of scale ....

OG there was an R rated spoof of that song as well. remember that?
but since we are not talkign about clinton, but bush and cheney, i think this one applies more

Dont Worry, Buy Duct Tape

Cost of war make you go broke
Terrorist ire it does invoke
Don't worry, buy duct tape.
Invading Iraq cause us trouble
Stock market fall, gas prices double
Don't worry, buy duct tape.
(Don't worry, buy duct tape yeah)
Uh uh uh uh don't worry buy duct tape….(4x)
No one in Washington use their head
Cover your windows and hide in bed
Don't worry, buy duct tape.
Got to invade the hour is late
Don't want to hear thoughtful debate
Don't worry, buy duct tape (look at me I'm taping)
Uh uh…,don't worry, buy duct tape
(I give you my phone no.
When you infected call me
I give you gas mask) oh…
Don't worry, buy duct tape
It come in gray not green or brown
But it sure hold the plastic down
So don't worry, buy duct tape…(5x)

Now then, this song I wrote
I hope you get it note for note
(Like good little children) don't worry, buy duct tape.

You know, the state of the union is the biggest topi-drama of the US democracy ... something you can watch everyday on Pakistan's Television! I would once like to see the president of any country come to the public representatives and say 'Guys, to be honest we are in deep trouble ... '

Anyway, I wonder if Bush is going to say "*When last year I said, you are with us or against us, what I really meant was ... You are with us, or we will see about that ...errrr .. on a case to case basis .. *"

and yet another one

Here's a little parody
I hope it will bring feelings of peace
Don't hurt the Iraqis
That Saddam guy is causing trouble
But still his country should not be rubble
Don't hurt the Iraqis
Don't hurt the Iraqis now

How would you like it if your tush
Got kicked because of Dubya Bush
Don't hurt the Iraqis
The good lord said ¨thou shalt not kill¨
No one should have their blood spilled
Don't hurt the Iraqis

Now there are bad problems at home
Fix them and leave Iraq alone
Don't hurt the Iraqis
Cause when you're hurting then you are bad
And that will make everybody sad
Don't hurt the Iraqis

aj- i think u are the only other person on this site who uses the words topi-drama :)

As sung by Ayatollah's with little top hats and canes, and women in Burkahs tap dancing? Would make a Good Saturday Night Live skit!

the latter one yeah, the former one could be sung by avg joe americans who stocked up on duct tape.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
by Bush

Throw a little slack for me in the vote,
You might want to put me on a bank note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
In mine it’s been more than double
Don't worry, be happy......

Just count yourselves lucky you aint dead
vote me back in or I’ll fill you fill of lead
Don't worry, be happy

The land lord say your rent is late
you think that’s bad I got Iraq-gate
Don't worry, be happy

Lood at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
The dollars dropping all the while
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
and that will bring a plane down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....

A matter of opinion, PA!

Pelosi was laughable, and "Dasch-hole" was himself. unfortunately! All I heard was the same old whining - no substance and no solutions!

More feeble attempts by the Democrats to appear marginally relevant!

But, maybe you were referring to comedic value!

Peace To All Who Read This...

no I was more referring to the fact they didn't whine as much as they used to.. you could almost see the effort they were putting not to sound negative or come across as always having a negative attitude towards issues.

What they said and Kerry followed up on ABC does resonate with a lot of folks.. that Bush sounded like he lives in a different America, ground realities do not reflect the State of the Union as he wants us to believe.

If you were left a bit suspicious about the credibility or sincerity of Bush's speech, much of that was erased after listening to the wooden, canned performance of those two animatronic figures during the response.

i.e. I gagged a bit during the letter writing anecdote from the ten yr. old girl. Too cheesey-but innocent enough. Then Daschle grave-robbing one last anectdote about a poor woman with cancer to do an "in your face" to Bush. Truly sick.

Also Kerry ought to brush up a bit instead of giving a vacuous response. For example, "Bush has no Health Care plan". Well, dummy, he had just explained a whole lot about what his plan was. You may not agree with it, but there is in fact a plan. So pick it apart, debate. I think it's going to get real interesting come debate time. I've never been real impressed with Bush's intellect, but he might do better one on one against these guys than many of us think.

i cracked up when Dubby mentioned the “17” other countries in his “coalition”… :rotfl: What were they - Timbuktu, Mali, Lichtenstein, Ukraine… :hehe:

hmm anyways, it was a good way for me to waste an hour of my time. At least he had the balls not to mention Iraq’s possession of WMD this time - although he did try to shamefacedly lie about “WMD-related” equipment.
