Mashallah. Another masterstroke by the government that has made GEO look stupid.

People should not be worried about emergency rule in Pakistan. It has become part and parcel of its governance.

Musharraf sent out a trial balloon of declaring emergency. He was woken up today at 2 AM by a call from Condi Rice. After hearing whatever she had to say, Musharraf no says no emergency.

I don't know whether this state of emergency's purpose is to benefit the army. They're getting everything now as it is - they've gotten control of the best jobs, and the best industries. Its not like their power is in threat.

I wonder whether its being called to take care of the extremists that have been causing problems lately, something that might not have happened under normal law?

Seems fishy.

GEO was even giving the news “Emergency aaj raat ko lagiee jaiee ge” “saree subiee assumbliaaan muat-tal ho jaeen gee” … GEO was giving SO MICRO DETAIL …just tells us how much biased they are.

In the process it made silly ass of a lot of its ministers as well who were carrying their masters message on GEO yesterday by saying that yes the imposition of emergency has been discussed and it might be imposed. The only guy who looks stupid in this whole episode is the one who was woken up at 2 am in the morning by a woman in US and was given the dressing down, and he calls himself a General. Master stroke indeed, strokes for his masters in US.

I heard it on all the news channels in UK. Obviously the general master is not going to admit to his humiliation now is he?
