Re: State of Emergency was recquired! Musharraff must stay as President!
Saroo, you obviously, do not know what you are talking about.
I am studying finance currently, and I’d like to educate you on one of the finer points of the economy. When there is a rapid growth in the economy, inflation must and will increase. T
1 - This is due to individuals having more spending power due to earning more money,
2 - Because of this increased spending power, they are able to pay more for goods,
3 - Because of the ability to pay more for goods, the prices of goods increase.
China, and India also recorded high levels of inflation when they’re economy first took off, but it stabilized whithin a few years. Unfortunatly because of the destablization of Pakistan, maybe it will take longer for Pakistan than a few years.
Regarding your statements on corruption. Well it is not true that the ranking was 36. This is because, Pakistan was ranked as 38. Pakistan was ranked as the 38th out of 41. Which means we were 2 spots above being the MOST CORRUPT.
In 1996, which was the last year of Benazir Bhutto’s rule, Pakistan was ranked 53/54. Which means we were the SECOND MOST corrupt country in the world.
http://www.transparency.org/policy_research/surveys_indices/cpi/previous_cpi__1 This is the link. Click on the one for 1995, because that is when Benazir Bhutto was in power. You can also click on the one for the 1996 year.
As for the corruption ranking in 1999…when Mr.Musharraff assumed power, the ranking was 87/99. In 2002 it improved to 77/102. The rankings for the year of 2006, and 2007 were 138/179 . Which means corruption in Pakistan neither increased or decreased for the past 2 years.

I agrea that corruption exists, and is destroying our society/economy. But it will take years to fix the problem. But atleast we can say we’re not the 2nd most corrupt country in the world. Which we weren’t able to say under the governemnt of Benazir Bhutto.
I’d ask you not to let your blind hate, stain the accomplishments that President Musharraff has achieved. Why don’t you post the accomplishments of Nawaz Sharif, and Benazir Bhutto, when they governed Pakistan. You’ll notice then that Musharraff belongs in a league of men, and the Nawaz Sharif in a league for boys.
