a clinical lesson by SLA on how to finish an ODI game and how to build an innings despite losing two early wickets. Although their innings fell away again towards the end, 265 was always going to test NZ's inconsistent batters against Sri Lankan spinners

True but chasing is a different ball game altogether. Who knows had Sri Lanka batted first in that game and posted 250+, Pakistan might have been in similar trouble against spin. Even then SLA chased well and it was a close match; could have gone either way. IMO chasing 250+ is far more difficult than setting a target of 250+ in ODI. So if you have enough confidence in your batting, you should always bat first after winning the toss except in overcast, damp conditions

Ok, Sri Lanka played well and all, but seriously the Kiwis are a joke. Only Pakistan could have lost to such a crappy side. I think they (NZ) will be the weakest team in the QF's not West Indies.
