Actually Muslims are 93% “Moors” and are distinct from Tamils. LTTE has been involved in ethnic cleansing of Muslims in some of its areas, particularly Jaffna, so there is the religious element to it.

In your link, it never says that LTTE is involved in recruiting people using temples. On the other hand, they uses the temples to gather funds mostly by threats and coercion. They use temple to further their cause just because many srilankans happen to come to these temples. Few of the names mentioned are christians infact.
