Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

Not to mention the chitralis, nuristanis and other minorities who would never want to be part of any pashtunistan.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

.As far as pakhtunistan is concerned even the pakhtoons in pakistan are not so united on that one.PKMAP is mainly for the pakhtoons of balochistan and ANP is for the pakhtoons of NWFP.The people from mianwali call themselves pathan but mianwal is mainly seraiki/punjabi speaking

Potohar area is always towards punjab they wont like to be separated from punjab.Hazara region doesnot want a separate province in the present setup. One cant find any nationalist movements there.they will be with punjab rather than pakhtunistan

Northern areas were with kashmir and if kashmir will be an independent nation then gilgit baltistan will surely be a part of independent kashmir.

Greater punjab but What will happen to the states of haryana and himachal pradesh which were a part of undivided punjab.

Bhutan becomes a part of India what about nepal which surely has more indian influence

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

re unification of pashtuns/afghans is a brilliant idea. i do support this idea but the question is how much bloodshed would the states involved go through in order to achieve this? would it be worth it?

the solution would be to make sure that whatever gripes as long as they are reasonable are met. the gov. of pakistan should encourage development in this area, establish industries, promote the pashtu language to the extent where at least pashtuns and others can read and write their own languages. this would surely lessen any opposition to pakistan by pashtuns.

both governments of paksitan and afghanistan need to maintain cordial relations, as it is in the interests of both nations.

there needs to be political and social changes in pakistan for this to happen. i doubt it wil happen but its worth the effort

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

Thats why I said the near future. If our rights are recognized, then I am in no mood of putting two countries through warfare.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

Oh Baboo! Tell this to Commie-turned-Talibanic-turned-neoCommie-US-lapdogs of Kabul.

Kharazai can't control anything beyond Kabul's central neighborhood and yet delivers lectures to Pakistan. This is what Kabuli-Kommies of Zahir Shah time used to do.

I don't understand when this 10 million, dirt poor, landlocked basket case will learn to respect it's most ally of the allied neighbor.

These Kommies always jump up and down for Bharatis, knowing fully well that it is going to reduce their value (or whatever is left of it) in Pakistan.

What do these kommies gain from Bharat? nothing! Bharat can't do a didly squat for Afghanis expect misusing Afghanistan to tease Pakistan's Western areas.

We feed these Afghanis, clothe them, educate them, and give them ID so that they can travel to USA and UK. Yet these thankless idiots turn around and do the lap dance for Hanood. This is the prime example of the Afghan ghairatmand character. Subhan-Allah.

Pipsqueak comments! Read above.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

spoken like a true ‘jehadi’. Too bad in the process of trying to create trouble for India in Kashmir the so called mujahideens have blown up thousands of innocent civilians - many women and children.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

sub hanallah we have a prime example of a Ghairatmand Pakistani character too!
Ma sha allah - may Allah never relieve you of your Greatness!

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

The Niazi's do not cnsider themselves punjabis either Culturally they are Pashsunt still and identify with that there are many niazi's in Banu who still speak pashtu.

There are many hindkowans who also are of Pashtun ancestry. they too follow Pashtun/Afghan custom. so if push comes to shove i am sure all of Pashtun origin , whether they speak pashtu or not, would support each other.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

true skylops, der kha. I believe a lot of jadoon pashutns(afghans) know hindko. I personally have no problem in them learning hindko, I just wish they learn their mothertongue.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

:bobo::bobo::bobo::bobo::bobo::bobo: DREAM ON!

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

whats wrong with it? Re-unification of Pashtun(Afghans) has been a key part of pashtun histroy since Bayzid Ansari. However, peaceful ways are the way to go, the last thing we need is more bloodshed.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

There is nothing wrong with this unification if Afghanistan wants to become a part of Pakistan.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

Niazis of Mianwali might support you in gaining language rights and such. But if you think that either the Hinkowan or Niazis would ever support your drive to secede from Pakistan and join Afghanistan on a national level, you are very, very deluded. It would never happen. For the fellow saying that Imran Khan does not represent most Niazis, there is a reason that his party gets its one and only seat in Mianwali :), its not because they support the ANP or joining Afghanistan.
In fact I doubt even if the majority of settled Pashtuns in Pakistan NWFP would support such a move. This sentement is mainly among the globalized elite such as yourself who view yourselves through an ethnic prism and want to dissociate yourselves from "desis" to form a seperate identity. Of course you have every right to believe what you wish.

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

you actually really need to read again what i wrote!

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

making comments and assumptions about me does not d you any favours! by the way we are not desi's. that is true! nor are we somehow superior or inferior to desi's. we are just different!

language rights are not an issue. i am sure most niazis who do not know pashtu, would love to learn pashtu as imran khan does.

by the way niazi's dont have language rights in pakistan so why would they request it in a possible or potential greater afghanistan or unified pashtunistan?

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

yeah and pashtu becomes the national language!:D

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

oh you great god of this world. how are lives would be worse with your knowledgeable insight!

it is the UN who feeds, edcuates, clothes any Afghans in need. Very few Afghans really on actual Pakistani help! the afghans do live in pakistan bt it is the UN and other International Agencies who deal with most of this. Pakistan has failed to feed and support it’s own people ie look at the poverty levels.

so what do you think of all these Pakistanis out in the Middle east, south east asia, Europe and north america? It has been pointed out that you hate Arabs but let’s face it without Arab help their would be millions of unemployed Pakistanis rotting in their country waiting for jobs. Most of the Pakistani GDP comes from remittances, the majority of this from the middle east.

If you believe the Afghans are fed and clothed by Pakistan then, Pakistan is fed and clothed by the Arab states in the Gulf, Europe blah blah blah :cb:

Re: Speculations by Six Prominent Political Geographers!

United Nations and its agencies are playing a role in the refugee camps. But the fact of the matter is that afghans in pakistan are involved in different types of trade mostly illegal like opium and weapons and smuggling of various goods. But now have ventured into the transport and garment business.

Chaman is known for its smuggled goods. The russian market of quetta to the bara markets of various cities of NWFP.The famous commercial areas of karachi tariq road and clifton have many shops of afghans majority of them dealing with garments. In sohrab goth of karachi they have a sizeable population and living upto the standard of an average pakistani better than many.

And many afghans have made themselves NADRA cards instead of NARA.I know obviously corrupt pakistanis are also involved in making their cards but the main point is that they want to live as pakistani in pakistan and not afghan.
