My mom always does. My husband never wants to, he says the time and gas you spend going to the other store is not worth the saving

I think when you compare prices by going to the three nearest stores once a month ... you will realize that the savings are worth it. We buy milk from a different store , fruits and vegies from a different store , meat and dairy from a different store ! even inclusive of the gas and time spent , we save a few 10's of pounds a month.
Some money saving techniques:
1- Stick to a certain radius around your area of residence , if you do every other day grocery shopping from different stores
2- if a certain store is cheaper but further away from your home, then do a two weekly budget and try to get your stuff in a single visit .. so the saving is worth it and not spent on the mileage !
3- The more the quantity the more the saving ...

Not sure how many UK stores of Pak Foods there are but they are selling 2 packs of 3 rubicon mango juice cartons for about £1.50, Morrisons had this offer a week or so ago at £2.00.

In Amsterdam:
-Whole wheat flour enhanced vitamins/minerals-wise...25 kg bag for €16.00 at a local bakery
-Skim milk...2 liter jerrycan for €1.15 at local supermarkets
-Basmati rice...5 kg bag...at a desi store for €8.50
-Daal channa...2 kg for €3.50 at a desi store
-Halal beaf per kg between €6.00 - 8.00 at a Turkish store...and keema for €4.50 a kg
-Halal chicken drumsticks...10 kg for €12.00...and 3 whole chickens for €5.00 :)
PS: Even if I do shopping in Amsterdam at stores...I am sure I still can make money in the UK by selling them... :D

Last time our local Tescos had an offer on basmati rice for half the price and guess what? All the cash and carry uncle jis bought them straight away and sold them for the original price. LOL.
Sadly, our local Tesco no longer does such offers thanks to these rip-off uncle jis. They’ve actually put a ban on the number of stuff a person’s allowed to buy in an offer. :khums:
