^ no this is ridiculous. there is no way to tell if either a man or woman have done it before unless they have told u themselves, u have pictures of them doing it, or if they have STD's and you somehow know about them.

An afghani friend who got married about 8 years ago told me that her wedding was in a grand hotel in Pakistan, and her mother in law knocked on the door in the morning after the wedding, b4 breakfast, to check this handkerchief bit of cloth that they had to provide proof of virginity on, basically it had to have blood stain on it. When she saw it, she reported back downstairs where everyone had gathered for the formal day after wedding breakfast, and they all celebrated it. How disgusting is that?

hymens come in all shapes and size, some can be totally closed and have to be broken to let out blood when you start your period.
the funny thing is they can so thin (from development from birth) that they may not bleed at all, or the shape of your hymen means it wont bleed when broken becaus ethe hole is so big.... so you can't prove virginity whether you have one or not!!!!!
i was involved in a op where we actually had to surgically break some ones hymen as it was so thick!!!!! so you can see it is feasible that some people have a really thin ones which may break spontaneously!

I had this Bosnian friend in high school who told me this practice is VERY common in their culture. The morning after wedding night, the bride and groom take the bedsheet to the parents in law to show the blood.. it is then celebrated. It's disgusting and NOONE'S bloody business (no pun intended).

It is sad but it is true that most men back home want to do it on the first night , most of the weddings are arranged and there is no intimacy or understanding between husbands and wives at that point of time so how can they decide mutually that they do not want to do it on their first night together.

Well, that is true that there is an expectation in some arranged marriages. I went to a wedding in pakistan last year and the poor bride was blubbering on her wedding day bcos she was scared bcos of all the stories she had heard about the man would do the deed on the first night. Everyone told her that the husband is not an animal, but she was petrified bcos she had received advice from her cousins to "allow your husband to do with u as he wants and dont scream". WTH???
Anyway, as expected, the husband was not an animal and one assumes that the deed was done when they were in mutual agreement!
