Yasmine, I have sent an email to Qrius asking her to start looking around for some media contacts. They are all working on the same stories. Sequence changes amongst them, that's all.
If that presentation was large enough then hotmail won't accept it. Try breaking up that file in half and then try sending me.
I'll email you my previous stand with more clarification so it won't clutter up this thread. Once I can get in contact with Imtiaz, I'll try to explain to him what's going thru my mind and what I would like him to think about. From the email portion you pasted from him, seems pretty likely that they will be trying to setup a website. If that comes thru then I just might be able to get him to give me a few mins. worth of his time to discuss my interest/s. We could surely collaborate....I am certain of it.

Hi pumpkin. Here it is in a nutshell:
We are trying to burst the bubble of Muslim silence on issues, any and all issues. Period.
If you move around the forums here like World, General and Religion (with limited items there) you would see some serious, some heated, some intelligent discussions going on covering varied topies. But the reality is that all these parties are saying absolutely nothing. Our voices are absent from any and all issues in the western societies, on a general level. Even in the Times magazine, I get to read more comments from Indian writers from India then any Muslim writers from the West. I find this very interesting.
For those of us living in the West, we have not done a good job in introducing the Muslims and Islam to our neighbors, colleagues, and non-muslim friends.
So, our effort is to parallel that of CAIR. While CAIR focuses on Muslim civil liberties' issues our effort, if successful based on the efforts of the group, is to respond to issues relating to misunderstanding of Muslims, Islam, defamation of Islam, derogatory statement and/or comments on Muslims, civil issues, political issues, family issues, etc.
We just want to speak up and be noticed as Muslims existing and being "part" of the societies that we have adopted rather then continuing to live with our head in the sand.... for to prove otherwise is to look for proof that exists not.

I am a non-Muslim, however, please do not judge me for that. I love all Muslim brothers and sisters and will do what I can to help you get your voices heard in America. Some of my closest friends are Muslims in Pakistan and I agree that the American media is very ignorant when speaking of the issues in your culture. I am open to suggestions.

UndoneByOne: I really appreciate your post on this thread. If you have had the time to weed thru this thread and pickup on the jest of the matter you would see that we are just trying to raise our voices to counter many of the biases against the Muslims and Islam.
This is not to say that we are trying to throw a blanket approach to all that's right and wrong. What's wrong is wrong and must also to be recognized and said so. But what's right and factual about Islam and Muslims and presented in perverted or biased form in the media must be answered where possible.

by monday, I will link you to a group in florida who is kind of a media watch and action group and we can pool our resources together. These guys have been thinking about it for some time and consist of a number of physicians and professionals.
by monday also, I will set up an intranet sort of thing somewhere to share any documents, samples of letters, news etc. we can operate that way until we can either link up with some other larger group doing so, or get more organized and outgrow that and need to evolve further.
