Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
And now you see the effects of overcrowding the international cricket schedules. Teams are now choosing their players on the merit of the tournament and which ones they would like to win *more. *During Pakistan's tour of England, england rested most of its major players for the ODIs and played all 2nd string players. Now South Africa is doing the same.
Should there be a provision in the ICC rules that states a team has to play atleast a minimum number of its most top rated players for any international game?
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
Rana should have been retained because he is goo with old ball and with those yorkers. Considering how we struggled with the tail in last test, Rana would have been beneficial. Asif can take care of top order.
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
You guys would like my head on a tray, if I add Sami to the list honestly he bowled well in one off test match. lets hope he can keep things simple and bowl like last test match and give good support to Asif and Kaneria.
I really hope Rana play the last test match, instead of Sami. Rana just need to break the jinx of bad performances in Test matches.
Asif, Sami, Rana and Kaneria with odd bowling from Hafeez makes a nice bowling squad. I hope meri kaali nazar na lagay in ko:bummer:

I think having a left in the top order is a must. Even if he doesn't score, he bothers bowlers for a good hour. He isn't that bad. A good slip cather too.

loo g ho gaya kaam .... does any one have access to GEO TV... i am told that GEO is claiming that Asif has injured his shoulder and is doubtful for tomorrow... if any one is watching GEO , please confirm this :(
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
well i asked my friend and he said that Asif in his interview on geo said that he was not 100% fit for last both tests ..and he also said he will play with injury ...
Allah mian kheir karay !
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
I hate knowing exactly how he will get out every innings, at least Hameed will keep us guessing.
With 2 of our first choice fast bowlers out of the game, Sami is always going to play. And to be honest, anyone who watched the game will have to admit there weren’t many pies thrown or those dreaded extras. I predict we’ll end up seeing Rana in whites again :(.
Pollock might be out but don’t underestimate Steyn. The guy has serious pace, I have seen him bowl over 150k’s. With our bowling strength low, the batsmen will have to step up (and I mean someone OTHER than the Younis, Moyo, Inzi) and put some decent scores on the board.
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
I wish they would make younis khan open
he is usually out there pretty early on anyways, we might as well make him into an opener
this is my team although i dont think it will happen
Mohammad Hafeez
Younis Khan
MoYo
Inzi
Yasir Hameed
Asim Kamal
Kamran Akmal
Rana
Sami
Asif
Kaneria
If we had afridi or razzaq in the squad I would send them out in place of yasir hameed,
If Shoaib Malik was playing I would have him in for Mohammad Hafeez
would also be nice if salman butt got a chance to play again, he showed more to me then any of our other openers.
Also I like the inlcusion of Sami, as frustrating as he is, to me hes more dangerous then Shahid Nazir, We need one more bowler to step up to win this match
MoYo and Inzi at 3 and 4 makes much more sense as well, I really think MoYo especially would thrive at number 3.
