Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
^ exactly and lets say if SA gets a lead of 50 + runs , all will depend upon how we bat in 2nd innings ..Saffies are great chasers of big totals.

Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
^ bhai yeh centurian ka featherbed nahi hai yeh capetown ki up and down wicket hai so last innings mai kuch bhi ho sakta hai.
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
And then we have to make sure that someone apart from inzi younis or yousuf puts more than 15 runs on the board. :D

:D
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
atleast we dun have to worry much of pallak this time... asif will be fresh tomorrow and if we get early wickets tomoroow, he should give their tail some wagging
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
cant beleive inzamam would still want to waste hameed at no3..your best batsmen should be coming up the order thats why yousuf ran out of partners today
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
Excellent Stuff. Inzi has really shown a lot more intelligence in trying circumstances then ever before!!
Good captaincy :k:
Good team effort (despite Sami and Nazir’s spills of runs) :k:
Good keeping from Zulqarnain in the nets. and bad from Akmal on the field.

Is that it? No comment on Akmal? Still learning are we?
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
well a bad decision to include hamid in the side and then even a worse desicision to have him playing at no 3 where younish khan has been doing an excellent job..hameed could have scored a few more at no 6 or 7 and yousuf would have had more time to play.

merey bhai mein bhee yehee duein maang raha hooon .... Allah karay kay pak team itnaa total to post karay jo defend kur sukay with an average attack... yeah khabees saffies aik dam aur acha khailaana shorugh hoo gaey tu lag jaein gay hum :(
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
we can not afford to give the lead of more than 25 to SA even with this lead we will lose Imran and Hafeez to make it even in 2nd inning
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
^ but with the likes of Boucher and Hall still to come and Prince still at the crease, it seems like pretty unrealistic lead.. hum say tu nitini hee naehi out hota :(
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
Unless Asif and Kaneria manage to run through the last 5 wickets in quick time, I predict a SA lead of atleast 50 runs. In fact, maybe Pak might even settle for a 50 run lead. This means that when we bat in the 2nd innings we will be at least 3 down before even getting past the deficit. After all, the first 3 batsmen are just a formality. I would play 3 extra bowlers instead.
You simply cannot have so many passengers in the team and continue to do well on a consistent basis. This test, our luck might just have run out. :(
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
Akmal's performance behind the stumps would make a blind wicketkeeper blush.
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
Now that's a sentence you don't hear everyday. :D
Re: South Africa vs. Pakistan - 3rd Test - Jan Fri 26 - Tue 30 at Cape Town
I kinda like skhan’s idea.
We can have a test team for sub-continent where we can play Hafeez, Farhat, Hameed and Malik. They will score 50s and occassional 100s every now and then. Chipping in with 100-150 or so runs outside the middle order trio.
Then we can have a test team for away series in which we don’t need to bother these slip nappers, but play likes of Imran Nazir, Afridi and other tullay baaz from domestic and 6 specialist bowlers. These tullaybaaz will give us the same amount of run as the specialists top order is showering us with. If once in 14000 year time, they are in mood, they will fire quick tukka 50 and 100 to destroy the morals of top attacks in the world like RSA, Austailia, NZ and England etc jo bhi hain. And please, one Rashid Latif’s caliber keeper.
Until and unless we produce quality technical batsmen who can play erratic swing and seaming balls early in the innings, we should adopt this theory of playing devastating and explosive tukkay batsmen up in the order. chal gaya tou chal gaya, warna end result ab se different nahi hoga. Atleast we stand a chance that any of these tullay baaz work every other match. Its not like they all fail in next five matches.
3 tullaybaaz (5 test matches x 2 innings)= 30 batting turns
I can predict 6 fifties and 2 centuries = 500 runs in 5 matches = 100/match GUARENTEED!!!

^ and some of those tullas can bowl too which is always handy since we can bank upon one third of our attack to get injured right before the tour, and another third during the tour.
