kallis is a champion
one of the modern greats. cant believe hes such a good batter AND and a pretty handy fast bowler for so many yrs.. and still fit.. awesome! he was a bit too slow for ODIs and T20s before like Dravid but he adapted his game well which is what Dravid couldnt do to the same extent.. Kallis was awesome in the IPL too..
i rate him in the top modern greats along with sachin warna lara ..... would probably put him ahead of punter...

One more run out - Laxman. Pujara got out to an unplayable delivery from Stein - swung in from on or outside leg stump. Tendulkar showed he is a fighter, and that he puts Team India first. Protectetd Harbhajan from Stein initially.
Morkel tried to block Tendulkar while latter was going for a run (while at ~ 108). Morkel literally moved laterally to the right to place himself in Tendulkar's path, then also extended both arms sideways. Tendulkar had to move to avoid him. Pretty unsporting - worse than any verbal "sledging".
India 317 for 6 at Tea. Stein bowled really well. Singh got lucky, with Morkel's delivery grazing off stump, but bails did not get dislodged.

Morne is nursing very poor figures, but he's bowled far better than that. Harbhajan and Sachin have added 69, and it's been crucial in the context of the match. How Harbhajan survived the new ball will remain one of the great unsolved mysteries of the game. Especially that ball from Steyn which crashed into off stump without dislodging a bail. "Act of God," as George Binoy puts it.
If memory serves me right, it was in the new year Test last year, also in Cape Town, that Steyn bowled a similarly hostile spell against England, but he was kept out by an unbelievable obdurate Paul Collingwood, who earned England a draw by the skin of their teeth. Today, Steyn was ripping India open with lethal away seamers. We have a long time to go in the year, but I doubt if we'll see a better spell of fast bowling all year. Sachin weathered the storm, with some luck, with lot of gumption and with some help from Harbhajan who has his own methods. This match is still in the balance.

Cricket will surely miss Kallis and Tendulkar when they are gone. One of the few batsmen from old era who let their bats do the talking. Their inngs are a treat to watch.

What an awesome series this is turning out to be. As I mentioned before.. this is the real show of the season.. #1 vs #2 at #2's backyard.. doesn't get any better than this.. this series has overshadowed the Ashes in terms of cricket quality.... I mentioned before too that the Ashes is hyped only because of the history and the tradition.... its #4 vs #5...
Yesterday we saw awesome performances by Kallis and Sreesanth.. today it was Sachin and Steyn... Sreesanth's spells yesterday and Steyn's spells today were one of the best fast bowling spells of this year. Fantastic to watch!! I hope you guys are catching this stuff live..

Excellent strategy - Kallis holds an end and cuts loose at the bad balls while Boucher ups the ante at the other end… Boucher is a wily customer and he is the key now - he is closing in on a well deserved 50 in a crunch situation. Good show by the Proteas.
