Ok I'll just reinstall ME. I have done the PC-cillin Real-time Scan now and then. I guess that was useless. It's just that I heard that by installing firewall, the system slows down. Now I see the result of not getting one. :o
So is there any reputable anti virus thingie you guys would suggest.
Is it alright if I just back up some Word files and Gif files? Will those be corrupted too?
Amazing, how by looking at the logfile you guys can tell it's all crap. :D

ME is not a very good O.S bro … I suggest you install Windows 2000. If you haven’t got it then you should know where to look for a cheap copy 
Installing a firewall does not really slow down your system because software firewalls just block ports and grant access to applications to access the internet etc. What does take up more resources is an AV because it scans almost every file in the memory etc etc. The first thing you should do after performing a clean install is to unpack your firewall and then your AV.
You can get some of the free firewalls available online … they perform well I’d say. I use Sygate Personal Firewall. You may download it from:

Outpost (Agnitum) - http://www.agnitum.com/download/
Zone Alarm (personally don’t like it)

install norton or mcafee anti-virus
firewall doesnt really slow the computer down as you think, all those spywares and virii/trojan running in the background do slow you PC down beside otehr things

btw; I installed outpost and its not that bad u know .... its quite compact and loads up pretty quickly as well ... anyone here using Outpost ... any experiences you would like to share ?

I was reading through and the thing is
1. dont use win ME its the worst windows out there it was made in 1 week and it gave the blue screen of death on its release in a press conference which bill gates was doing you see how bad it is.
2. Pc-cillin is the worst virus scan software out there no good. get a real virus software Norton is great i have it and have no problems with it. It will tell you exactly where the problem is.
3. use firefox as browser not IE. you will need to get some extensions for firefox to do somethings but its worth it. you can get it from mozilla.com
4. just want to mention this where ever you check for virus or ad ware do this in safemode.

Btw; about the O.S giving a BSOD in a conference it was Win98 and I even have a clip of it (thanks to 5Abi) … don’t know if the same happened to ME as well … khair … nice to have you around bro
