Why have to keep asking these question about haram and halal meat to some supposed scholar when it is simply explained in Quran that the animal has to be properly slaughtered by the people of the book. The answer you have posted above is very confusing. Fist he writes that it is ok to buy meat at supermarket and then he writes only if the animal is not killed with some alternative method. Doesn’t he already know that in North America the so-called people of book (Christians) don’t use the allowable method to slaughter animal? If he doesn’t then he doesn’t have any credibility to issue any ruling. This is very misleading. It gives good excuse to those Muslims who find it convenient to eat haram meat. They can just mention such and such scholar said that it’s ok to eat supermarket meat so it’s all good.
