Afridi is not much of batsman, not much of a bowler, a poor tactician, he is a good fielder and a passionate player but what has taken him so far is what is crucial to an athlete at international level, his supreme fitness.

I have often criticised Afridi for throwing away his wicket in ODI but he is a wicket-taking bowler and a good fielder. He mixed his variations nicely against SLA yesterday and deserved the MoM. Let’s give credit where it is due. I have always regarded his batting as a bonus
