God says in the Quran to enter the religion wholely and completely. It also says that whatever the Prophet (s) gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you from, don’t do it. That should be sufficient for a Muslim. There may be health, social or other benefits from drinking, gambling and other vices but the only reason I avoid it is because my God and Prophet said so. I don’t need reasons beyond that. That’s why it’s called FAITH.
Inferences are key. Read about the tribe of Lott, the Quran specifically states that they were in sin and those people were destroyed for trying to go after angels. What do think those verses mean? Are they commending Lott’s people?
