in the UK, there used to be a fad called "happy slapping" mostly practised amongst the youth, where an unsuspecting member of the public is assaulted and this is recorded via camerphone by an accomplice; this started out as harmless fun but soon mutated into something worse...

I know someone who got happy slapped in Uk just two days
before his wedding. He had a flight to catch to Pakistan the
same day. I don't really remember the whole thing but it was
