Re: Sohail Tanvir out of the World Cup
He is going through a rough patch and looks completely off color. A good decision in the end.

Re: Sohail Tanvir out of the World Cup
From his profile I don’t seen any performance for U-19, when did he play with U-19? Besides, if what you said about him is true then may he be a better replacement of Amir :k:
EDIT: I guess U-19 are not included in Cricinfo profiles, from bowling stats looks good.
Re: Sohail Tanvir out of the World Cup
I think this is a big blow to Pakistan's chances. Sohail Tanvir has experience of playing under Indian conditions due to his IPL stint.
Indian conditions are not dissimilar to those in Pakistan
And looking at Tanvir's recent form he seems even more experienced in giving away easy runs to the opposition
His 'delayed recovery' from injury is a timely blessing surely
Re: Sohail Tanvir out of the World Cup
I like hussey as a player but hate him when he wins a match against Pakistan (T20 Semis). I am happy to see him NOT participate.
I won't be surprised if Michael Hussey returns for the knock out stages of the world cup esp. if Aussies struggle against SLA and Pakistan in the group games

Do they allow any player to be thrown in middle of tournament?
Re: Sohail Tanvir out of the World Cup
I think WC rules allow a team to replace a player who sustains an injury during the tournament.
Kallis for instance is already carrying an injury (rib) and SA have decided to rest him for the first few games. SA won’t (or should n’t) be able to replace Kallis if he aggravates his rib injury while playing WC games

what are indian conditions??? can you explain...the pitches are going to be quite similar to pakistan with a slight difference of weather, late evening dew in southern regions other wise not much different...
Re: Sohail Tanvir out of the World Cup
At U-19 level Junaid Khan was among of a crop of the most promising young fast bowlers in recent years, alongside Mohammad Amir. Good pace and better stamina and an ability to move the ball around if the conditions are right, Khan finally made it to national contention when he was called up for Pakistan’s 2011 World Cup squad as a late replacement for Sohail Tanvir.
Khan is from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and has built up an impressive domestic career with Abbottabad, for whom he debuted in January 2007. The record acquires greater sheen given that Abbottabad are among the weaker sides on the circuit. Those performances have led him to Pakistan A selection, for whom he has been impressive in two series now, never less than when taking nine wickets in a ‘Test’ against Sri Lanka A in Hambantota in September 2010.

Yep God is great… :k:
**Golden Asif:
**Technical reasoning is for technical issue, but I feel something is cooking in the dressing room!
Look at Afridi how he used Tanvir while saving Razzaque, he allowed Tanvir to destroy his career, however Afridi could have saved him but he didn’t! That tells many thing, and soon after they reached Pakistan Tanvir is out yeah for a technical (reason) … but …
seems like a grouping is already formed in the team already, Butt’s fan (Misbah and Co)and Afridi fans …I hope I am wrong, but I doubt…
Salman Butt already divided the team giving interview saying Afridi is a clueless Captain! while he was praising Misbah, … this is nonsenses and should be noted by PCB!
Bring another Khan who has no prior international experience is kinda gamble, and could be more crucial in the knockout matches if he give away 10-15 runs in final overs! to me Tanvir Ahmed would has been a better choice! now we can only pray for Pakistani team! … ![]()
Gute Luck Pakistan ![]()

I hate this guy because of his `Anti Hindu ' speech he made last year.
