maam… as I said, I rubbed it off my shoulders… and if you feel I instigated it, then I beg your pardon… met a few pathans and their dilect seemed to be odd, as if they were confused about genders… but maybe my eardrum was schezophrenic… .o well, lets move on..
well sir i’m sorry for i think i might’ve overreacted. It’s just that Pathans are always made the laughing stock you know, it isnt very nice. However, not all people are the same, like you stated you met a few and not all of them. They’re not confused about genders, and to tell you the truth i havent met any Pathans of that sort. If i may ask, are u sure it was only your ears?
^^ ji baaji , billkul meray kaan ka kasoor tha... I got them checked and even replaced them and ever since I've NEVER heard a pathan confused with genders......
phew............ lesson learnt!...... lol
alright... let me tell you what he said....... he goes "tum chai nahin peeti"?.. and I was like what!!!...... did I grow some "organs" on my body over night that I didnt check! why was he saying "peeti"........... and so I figured, maybe its just the primitive pathans.... or again maybe just my ears.....:)

ahem unkal ji..i bet i'm younger than u..khair..lecture shuru
...woh kya hai na..urdu is not their first language and i bet if you talked in pushto you wouldnt be very good at it either. For pathans to speak urdu is very hard, i should know. It's not a very rare thing though, when learning any language it's sometimes hard to find what's "male" and what's "female". For example when i'm talking in urdu i get my meri and mera confused...like instead of saying mera sar..i say meri sar. However, i am happy that you have fixed your mistake and will not repeat in the future. But yes you are right, pathans who learn urdu at an older age, have that problem but you cant blame them for it. Try speaking pushto and you'll know exactly what i mean.
hey u guys are both right to some degree. some pathans who move to pakistan and try to speak urdu sound a lil weird as anyone does at first when trynaa speak a new language. But most of the gender changing stereotype is created by TV shows and movies where they go out of their way to make ppl, who are not pathan, luk like pathans. They figure the easiest way of doin that is to speak in a weird accent and change the gender of the person they are talking about.
ignorance…ah well we cant point fingers at stupidity now can we? I never said u disrespected pathans..you made an arguable statement and i argued it. You may hold your peace..and so shall i
pathans do mix gender…but in urdu…real life examples are my aunties…n there is nothing bad in wo jati hai wo ata hai…in fact its lively…dont worry dude i also face things when punjabi calls me pathan…balochi calls me punjabi, punjabi calls me sindhi, sindhi calls me urdu speaker n urdu speaker puts me in between pathan n punjabi…cuz in end all i care is they better not forget I M PAKISTANI :shoaby:
Dunnia kay har insaan main aik pathna chupa baitha hay, aur dunnia kay har pathan bohat saara insaan chupa baitha hay ...
Yeh aik Kafiat (mood) ka name hay, yeh mood kabhi bhi kisi par bhi asakta hay, koi bhi kisi bhi waqt pathan ban sakta hay ... Pathan bannay ka talluq insaan kay 'dimagh' say hay...
The best people on earth are The Pathans, I am very much a Proud Pathan ... I am Yousuf Zai Pathan :-)
