SC seeks record of missing persons proceedings
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has sought record of proceedings and legal justifications of missing persons from army and security agencies and put off the case till March 01, Geo News reported.
Three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the case.
Authorities concerned produced missing prisoners before the apex court during hearing on Monday. The families of prisoners were also present in the courtroom.
The Chief Justice expressed resentment on agencies counsel for not producing all the prisoners.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa told the court these prisoners were brought to Parachinar centre on January 26, adding that he did not know where these were prior to this.
Justice Khilji Arif in his remarks said was the detention of these people not the violation of article 10 of the constitution?

All the prisoners were presented in the court, but the court asked the intelligence agencies as to why they were not produced on the previous order.

What is the point in having such a large Army and uncontrollable intelligence service when all they do is make their own people suffer. There is very little positive to write about either. We should do away with them both and no we wont be on our knees to Indians, that is just an army propagated myth.
Our army leadership and intelligence leadership are worse than civilian leadership. How pathetic they treat their own people like this but why am I surprised? 1971 comes to mind. When you have a history of unpunished Generals for major crimes, expect th future to be the same.
