I can so relate to that @T1000 . In my case, it’s a lot of professional folks who have a hard time understanding what I do, but most of the time, it’s just lack of interest on their part. For family and friends, I’m cool with them thinking about me in terms of the lowest denominator, and I will keep helping them buy and fix computers.

In my wife’s case, for the first two years of her job, we kept explaining to ppl how she’s not an accountant and she can’t help you with your taxes just because she works at the Canada Revenue Agency. No one seemed to understand that she’s in “Human Resources”

So did they say “well she can’t do our accounts, but she should be able to hire us someone who can” LOL
