On a serious note, notice the ads on top and then also notice which forum you are in and what the keywords of that forum/thread are. For example, when I was visiting the video forum, the ads were changed to “video clips”. When I was visiting the Images 3 forum, in particular Hum Hain Lajawab’s Bed thread, the ads changed to “furniture” ads. Imagine what will happen when you visit Life & Relationships. Here’s an example:

filters can surely be used. on another site people would intentionally use some word like "nude" or "sex" or "teens" in the title to get such ads and then the site administrators started using filters. these are smart ads.

Google Adsense uses contextual advertising methods, which means adds will be picked related to the content and the words of the each page, so if the page that has google ads is about “chinese mythology”, then only adds related to chinese mythology will show up, because the advertisers who sign up for google to sell their adds select the categories where they want them to display. So in “Life & Relationship” forum pages, you can pretty much guess what kind of key words it is going to pick from the context
Adds which are not liked by the publisher , in this case GS, those URL’s can be added to the filter list and be excluded, but it is against the TOS of google adsense to use 3rd party softwares/scripts that changes the behavior of the google javascript code, but adsense allows the publishers to use the “filter” list in adsense account.
Like Azkar bhai mentioned, there will not be used “pop-ups” adds. Read before your write.

To conclude, the Ads make GS look cheap and spoils the overall design of the site. They need to get rid.

Btw on a serious note , some of them are really Gross and stout ! we can indeed cold-shoulder them as Azkar Bahi suggested but some how they are damaging GS's ' Family site' carved figure .
