I quit smoking last month after having smoked for almost 18 years. Ive smoked a lot of brands over these years. My first ever cigarette was K-2 Filters (brand that my dada used to smoke). Then I smokd some Red And White and Capstan and Wills, Gold Leaf. Then the English brands, 555, Rothmans, Dunnhill. But my favorite all time brand has been John Player Special (JPS). It was pretty hard to find this brand in LA at first. I had to go to this british foods/groceries place in Santa Monica to get a pack once in a while. In US, i had been smoking Marlboros (Lights and Ultralights) mostly. But like i said I have quit smoking now.
The "relaxation" that you feel from smoking is an illusion. There is nuthing chemically in the cigarette or its smoke, that relaxes you. Quite the opposite im afraid.
tell me about it... and yet here i am, puffing away, to help me deal with wedding stress. its driving me crazy! i'm worried about cancer, wrinkles, a dull complexion, growing horns on my head from all those chemicals etc... but i can't stop! i need help!
:(
hmm. dunhills. thanks for reminding me that i quit. but i wanna start again. but i wont. but i want to. daym you ppl for opening these kinds of threads. like i don't have enough to deal with ppl smoking outside my building. hrmph!
Well the first step towards quitting is realizing that you are ADDICTED to it.
You have to be willing to quit. I quit cos i got seriously sick and realized that i had to quit smoking to avoid getting sick again. You can see my thread here, and advice from various people:
5abi, you are right. Dunhills are very hard to find. I had to drive across the city to get the 2nd pack, it seems changing to marlboros is only option here.
