thank you for that suggestion. But I use a multi-vitamin supplement by natures made and I believe it covers everything (all vitamins). I jsut started using it but should I take separate vitamin A's and D's as well? I also wanted to take vitamin C in fluid like Emergen-C vitamin C powder for drinks. Or is the multi-vitamin enough?
I've also heard biotin is supposed to be good for the hair. there is Omega-3 and Omega-6...do we need both or is one more important than the other? what brand of Omega-3 anyone suggests?
ok so I've been asking about fish oil and/or flaxseed oil to which some ppl had bad reactions to flaxseed. Also fish oil has iodine which is not good for acne-type skin! True? b/c my multivitamin contains it and if it is bad for my acne skin already I'm gonna toss them out!
thanks, I'm really learning alot by my own research though. Zinc is supposed to be good for acne skin (like 15 -50 mg), along with vitamin A. Biotin supplements is good for the hair.
If I didn't have to worry about acne, I have heard good reviews about hair, skin & nail supplements from GNC or nature's bounty, etc. that has all the supplements needed for growth. Oh well.
Guys, do a bit of research on supplements before taking them. I have a packet of centrum vitamin supplements sitting right in my cupboard but I'm reluctant to take them after I read some scientific research papers on the effect of supplements on our body.... not nice!
There’s others as well but I read them on the Science Direct website using my college’s database… research papers cannot be viewed for free on Science Direct.
I’m not asking for a debate on how good or bad vitamins are, even I don’t know whether I should be taking them or not. I guess you just have to talk to your doctor and see what they have to say about this.
A friend of mine who is a nutritionist recomended NORDIC NATURALS Complete Omega -3.6.9. fish oil. I have been taking these for few months now and my skin and hair have improved so much. You can buy these from GNC.

Yea - I think it is a good idea to consult with your primary care physician before starting to take vitamin supplements.
They know best about how this kinda stuff affects your body and give you the pros and cons of the various different kinds of supplements out there. It can help you decide whether you want to start taking them and what kind you want to take.
This is even better than doing your own research and coming to your own conclusions. Because most people do need supplements of some kind because it is kinda impossible to be getting everything our body needs all the time. Especially women since we menstruate and can easily develop bone and breast problems in the future. So talk to your physician about your concerns and have him/her suggest which kind to buy.
Thanx Huma i’m gonna read it in detail. lets see if we can find supplements without mentioned toxins.
as for doctors sorry to say but mostly they r not well informed n in touch with latest researches. they hav always disappointed me. i hav yet to find one that can answer my queries sastisfactorily.
my dad is a doctor...and an primary care physician at that. My khalaa is a doctor as well - ob/gyn ....I think I am spoilt in that regard.... my questions and concerns are always answered very thoroughly and thought and concern put into it. If they are iffy about something, they will consult another doctor friend of theirs to get the exact info.
