This song was buried way deep in my memory bank - I did not care for it when it first came out. Now I like it. Like wine, this one gets better with passage of time, I guess.

I liked Dil Se. Did not watch Salt or Avatar.

This movie is about a period of communal strife in India. A brahmin South Indian lady (Mrs. Iyer) is being escorted on a bus trip by a Bengali gentleman Raja, who she thinks is a Hindu. In the midst of a communal riot, Raja, whose official name is Jahangir Chowdhury, volunteers to leave the bus in order to not endanger the safety of the Hindu travelers. After that, the movie just takes off. (Granted, the 1st 30 minutes is slow, but actually a very necessary set-up for what follows).

The movie tugs at your heart. Superb acting, superb direction, simply a must see movie.
