‘Surrendering Sindh to criminals suicidal’
http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_25-12-2002_pg7_31

By Hasan Mansoor

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Syed Munawwar Hasan on Tuesday said by handing over Sindh to “criminals”, the centre was repeating in the province what happened in East Pakistan 31 years ago.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters, Mr Hasan asked the MQM’s nominee for Sindh governorship Ishratul Ibad to explain “whether he accepts the 1973 Constitution or not.”

He said he was referring to the MQM’s demand for the replacement of the Constitution with one that ensured full provincial autonomy and relatively loose federal control on provinces.

He said it was well known that Altaf Hussain did not recognize the Constitution, which was unanimously approved by parliament. “Mr Ibad should tell us who is right, his leader or 150 million Pakistanis?” Mr Hasan asked Mr Ibad “to apologize to thousands of Mohajirs, Sindhis, Pakhtoons and Punjabis killed by MQM terrorists.”

“Extortion, murder, terrorism and the MQM are synonymous. We shall protest, together with other democratic forces, against the government’s policy to distribute national and provincial assembly seats to these extortionists as bhatta (protection money). Now they are handing Sindh’s governorship to them.” He said the MQM had nominated a person for Sindh governor who faced charges of heinous crimes. “But then, the MQM cannot have a clean and fair person. It is impossible,” he added.

“Why were the cases against him not pursued and why did he not move the court if the charges against him were concocted?”

He said since the October elections, Sindh had been treated like a “step-child” and its democratic and legal rights were being trampled upon. “This is what happened in the former East Pakistan 31 years ago,” he said.

“The PPP is the single-largest party in Sindh, but there is a conspiracy to keep the party from coming to power. Prime Minister Jamali has been saying he will not interfere in Sindh’s affairs, but he stayed here four days for horse-trading. The MQM was the second-largest party and should have insisted on the chief minister’s position or opted for opposition benches, but it did not do that and cut a deal to get the governorship.”

Referring to Mr Ibad’s claim that he had left the country to escape conspiracies by the establishment, Mr Hasan said “the establishment should explain its own position.”

He asked the PPP and other parties not to stay silent on the alleged excesses against Sindh and stage protests, particularly against the hand over to “criminal elements.” He added that the MMA would support joint candidates against the pro-government candidates in by-elections.

One side story.

This guys got 10-11 criminal cases against him including murder!
These people are screwing pakistan!
even the punjab assembly speaker has criminal cases against him including two murders!

More hats off to musharraf. Letting criminals become governers. Benazir cant be allowed, but such criminals, whom everyone knows is a certified one, is allowed and become the governer of Sindh... This has gone far enough.

Spock,

In case you don't know, it was MQM who found out who was behind killings of Shia Doctors in Karachi.

Well if every other uchakka and lutaira is in power on every other post it will not bring sky to earth to give Governership to MQM. Hope they will work better this time and will not repeat the mistakes of past waisey bhee this is a package deal with "JAMHORYAAT" that ppl like Nawaz, BB, JAM SADIQ, PIR PAGARA, MQM, JAMAT-E-ISLAMI and all corrupts gets into power with votes.

and i dont know the guys who were talking about the good being of Jamat-e-Islami has even experienced them from near. Ask me they are a step ahead of MQM in ghunda gardee and badmashi. I have seen a lot back home in Karachi colleges and universities.

Let it go the way it is. No one has open ground anyway so they will keep the check on each other.

Waisey bhee who are we to complain. In Quran Allah says that "I'll impose the same type/Character of rulers on you as you yourself are"

All the luteras are back....dont know bout the other provinces but Punjab was doing well under Shahbaz Sharif!
and luteras like Ibad and Parvez Elahi are given charge......!!!
Is this what Musharraf came for?!....he started off well after the coup but now hes jus tryna hang on to the presidency!

Its all because of democracy dear thats why i say we in pakistan are better off with democracy. Mussharaf's 3 years were the golden years and he shold have continued ruling from the front. Hell with all politicians. Just tell me ONE SINGLE difference that elected representatives has made for good ? NOTHING ...

  • Media was free in musharraf's regime than any other elected regime
  • Current govt is also continuing the economic and foreign policy of musharraf
  • Law and order was lot better than what it normally is in elected govt
  • education was getting better day by day
  • exports were getting better .....for the sake of God why the hell we need elected govt ? Ultimate goal is the well being of ppl and that was better in musharraf's regime.

Obviously youre an MQM supporter. Well son, let me tell you how much the MQM has terrorized Pakistan. I guess you have not seen Altaf Hussains Torture Cells. I have relatives who were killed by the MQM in Karachi, by people associated with that Fahim Commando character, who is no different from the Governer right now. May I remind you destroyed Karachi in the 90s, and who was behind Hakim Sayeds death?

:rotfl: Now, hold it man right there. How the hell did you know that?

Fahim Commando? Never heard of him before. What I know as my relatives stated who live in Karachi as well that it was MQM, who found out who was behind killings of Shia Doctors in Karachi. It was Laskar-e-Jhangvi.

Nawaz Sharif was behind Hakim Sayed’s death.

democracy....u mean to say that these elections were fair....no way! everyone knew what the result wud be!!
Elected representitives have made a difference....Parvez Elahi will eat up all the funds unlike Shahbaaz under who Punjab prospered....!!!
Ghundas like Ibad....who have criminal cases includin murder against them are let free n made CMs....will they do the job sincerely?!?!....people who have looted the nation are made CMs.....great aint it?!?!....that would bring so much of peace n stability!!!
Talk about the welfare of the people?!?!....look at our judiciary....its taken an oath of loyalty towards Musharraf....will it provide justice?!?!
People like Parvez Elahi n Faisal Saleh Hayat who have looted the country are made ministers?!?!......shouldnt they be punished?!?!
why was Nawaz thrown out coz they said he looted the nation....these people have looted the nation too....shudnt they be punished?!?!

PT, can you prove that? Do I have to show you an article where MQM members admitted to his killings?

As for Lashkar, dont tell me the 90s wave of terrorism in Karachi was due to religious reasons. Everyone knows MQM is nothing but a terrorist organization, and tell me how you justify Altaf Hussains torture cells. Do you want pictures of those?

Musharraf's "achievements"

  1. Appointment of Terrorist leader as Sindh Governor

  2. Re-emergence of crooks and luteras like Faisal Saleh Hayat, Chaudries of Gujrat and Aftab Sherpao after dropping existing cases against them and letting them run for elections

  3. Blatant floor crossing and horse-trading in violation of Musharraf's own LFO, all with Musharraf's blessing

  4. Terrorist Azam Tariq in parliament, happily voting for Musharraf chamcha Jamali

  5. Selling Pakistan's Honour and Dignity to Uncle Bush. US troops are now arresting doctors and killing our soliders.

Is there any shame left? Just make dua to Allah(SWT) to take this curse off our nation.

Spock yaara - Why bother with people who have decided not to be convinced.

You can wake up a person who is sleeping, but not a person pretending to be asleep.

I wish I could but no sorry. It was stated by my relatives, who are PPP supporters.

You mean Hakim Sayed? Maybe they did but I’ve also seen Nawaz meeting with Altaf in London to extend friendship. You know I hate politics. :hehe:

NO no I don’t want those pictures. I’ve seen it already; and I don’t need to justify anyone. You better know who I do support. Don’t you?

you missed one of his major achievements....he took an oath will joinin the army that he would not take part in any political activity 'what so ever'....n he didnt abide by it!

Whoever are criticizing the MQM governer i dont know if they had objection on MQM or Ishrat-Al-Ibad.

I personally dont mind having MQM's governer but they should have chosen someone else. But as they have chosen Ishrat-al-Ibad i guess we better give them the time.

No one can justify no one here. Every party has blood on hand. I have seen this from v close. I have seen every party's member hunting down the members of other party. You name it MQM, JAMAT, PPI, PPP, PSA, PSF and this story goes on and on.

Ask someone who has studied in university/college of Karachi how it used to be there in "Democratic Times". Everyone was so happy on Gen's takeover.

Everyone points the finger at other but cant even give a alternative. Can you name any single party who is (was) loyal to Karachi and Pakistan ? I know you cant because there is non. Everyone has their own agenda. There are some ppl who goes through the process of "change of heart" with every new govt. If you guys havent seen the brutality of Aleem Adil, Sarwar Awan and Haleem Adil ask me. Now they are in muslim league (Q).

So stop this nonsense and just pray that everything becomes good for Pakistan. I know for sure Pakistan will survive being a gift of God but we dont have to survive only we have to become a prosperous nation in the world.

Forget party affiliations or support, is it good for Pakistan to have a person of such ill repute as a Governor of a province?
