On the contrary, in the Sahih of al-Bukhari we find that the Messenger of Allah (peace be on him) advised a man who wanted to marry a woman to, "Present her with a gift, even if it be ring made of iron." On the basis of this hadith al-Bukhari inferred the permissibility of iron rings.<<
I can't see how anybody could infer the permissibility of Iron Rings from this.
I don't think the Prophet meant Iron Rings literally.
What he was saying is 'Present A Woman You Marry Some Ornament', which is a good thing to say.

dear Pa brother?
what is your idealogy abt ISLAM, would you like to shed some light. I find your ideas very strange specially about hadith.
and what i have extracted so far, that you dont beleive in what prophet (SAW) said or acted or told ..
are u ahmadi ??? or qadyani ? or you beleive that Just Quran is enough to enlighten all the aspects of ISLAM ???
Dont think "you can" know "you can"

FlameZz, I believe in what the Prophet said.. which is available in the form of Qur'an. What I disregard is lies attributed to the Prophet, compiled under a highly dubious political climate 200 years after his death. THAT I have no belief in. Used to.. but read some history and finally understood that they are just fabrications.
I believe that the Prophet Muhammad was the final Prophet of Allah and do not believe in the second coming of Christ or a Mahdi, therefore I don't think Qadiani/Ahmadi's would want to have anything to do with me.

Pakabroad, I see you want to put primacy on Koran. Also you say Hadiths are politically inspired.
Do you stand by the verses in Koran that say Non-Muslims are enemies?
Or do you think they are mininterpreted?
Just to let you guys know a practical example......most Muslim local men(Malay) in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunie wear Silk dresses. That is their national dress and i know very well the fact since i lived there, that most of the people are very religious. Even they wear it especially when they go to pray in Mosque. And one can think if these people are religious why do they wear silk, isn't it forbidden?? and answer is ..its Not!!!
Silk is very cheap fabric in south east Asia since most of it come from China/Japan(big manufacture of Silk) which is close to these countries. Therefore people wear it very often....and it became their national dress. I agree with ahmedjee that it used to be forbidden in Islam in old days becuz silk was most expensive fabric then. But its not the case anymore.

Umm I’m already drooling just thinkin’ of such a nice fabric. Bedsheets, pillow covers, maybe pajamas (or not i’ll leave that for later), ties (finally no more nylon ties) and and . . .
sigh Alas, I just thought of it and there isn’t much a guy can do with such a soft fabric as silk

I gotta get a sherwani made out of silk too!
Aah dreams, I’ll get these done whenever

and if its approved.

I need to know which verse you are referring to.. It has to be studied under it's context.
