My question is, is it good to tell kids how much you make? Would you tell your children your salary/earnings? Or would you keep it a secret? Would you make up a bogus number and want them to believe that? Why? Thanks.

I think most kids most kids raised in US, Canada and
nearby vicinities do know. Not because their parents
can't afford to buy them the things they want to buy,
but because the kids play an active role in the
financial responsibilities of the parents from an early age.
It also teaches the kids a certain sense of responsibility which
they can really use in the long run in their own life.
In most cases that I've witnessed where the parents
hid the truth about their income, they did so because they
didn't really want their child(ren) knowing that they
(the parents) could really buy all the stuff the child wanted
but just chose not to.**
would you believe it i asked my parents after reading the thread.
Do i need anything? No just asking.oh i dunno , why do you wanna know?
when i was younger my parents never told me the salary, and they didnt believe in pocketmoney either, unless it was for a specific something
but they always bought me whatever i wanted and they told me, if u need anything ask it of us and well buy it for u u dont need to save yourself we r there to do it for u

agree, why should we feel the need to ask parents how much they make, makes no sence to do so.
