I mean really, if that was how the things were to be, women wouldn’t have had similar mental abilities as men. If women were to only take care of their young, we couldn’t have had the ability to be a rocket scientist. Just because we are to provide nutirition to the young one for a while, doesn’t mean… anything other that that is off limits to us. Jesus, if we are following biology here then show me some evidence women lack what is needed to make it in the working outside world.
I still repeat.. CONDITIONING. And it’s not only about males imposing upon females. Society in general. A woman thinks if she doesnt sit and home and take care of the young one, she will be the talk of the town and be labelled a bad mother. Conditioning, fear of society, guilt, a lot of reasons there.
urgh..and parissenoor, what are you blushing about in intervals? And please, communication isn’t language. Language, rational and moral reasoning are possessed by humans alone.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Where did I say that women cannot be rocket scientists or they should not be rocket scientists. Where did I say that they should not be allowed to work where they want to work. I have very high respect for women who want to achieve something in their lives and go forward to achieve it. I have even higher respect for women who don't expect to be treated differently on their jobs compared to their male counterparts. My talk was not on this issue at all.
Your reasoning that "If women were to only take care of their young, we couldn't have had the ability to be a rocket scientist" is groundless at the best. Men were traditionally hunters which would have required even less brain power compared to raising young ones. ???
If any person does job X, then you get Pay Y. Pay Y strictly is based on the job and what the task is worth in a monetary amount. I don't see how the gender has anything to do with it.

you have a serious prejudice against housewives...you think they are stupid and that raising kids is a low job.....wht a shame! and an insult for a lot of your female ancestors
VERY good points, and I agree with you wholeheartedly; med school, law school are very hectic, require a LOT of money, time and attention..why go through all that trouble if you have NO intention whatsoever of practicing? Why not do pre-med? Get multiple bachelors etc, become a teacher, CPA etc.. This is only IF she has no intention of eve rpracticing law or medicine..I just think its a shame that a seat is wasted on someone like that, when it could very well go to someone who WANTS to practic,e who wants to support their family etc.. same with affirmative action
i think that women should be paid as much as men..............and all those statistics are just full of bull****........god sed that women and men were equal so who are we to decide..............and anyway women who r not married nad havent got children work just as hard as men...........and can i ask guyfromwest or wateva why are ur threads always in some way puttin down women.......these threads really make u sound sexist........u should think of a new approach.........lol
And you concluded that from what? I was explaining why even now more women “choose” to stay at home rather than work. Jesus, did I say they are stupid? I said most are just under societal pressure or believe this is what they are supposed to do, due to conditioning. Do not twist my words sweetheart.
Sara516! you ARE da girl!!! l like those women who think logical. dont get me wrong. i am NOT sexist or anything, i just wanted to see how girls react on this and i gotta admit;... you girls ROCK!!!. btw this can be my last post, i may not come back. I have been told by canadian force to get ready to go to Iraq. I should be coming back in August. I'll see you all when i am back or should i say; IF i am back ...lol
some ppl have complained that all my threads are AGAINST girls/women. I say; not AGAINST but yeh.. ABOUT them... and why not.. GIRLS have always been my favourite "course" in high school and university.
to the people who know me;... I will be available at only [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected] account for next couple of days or till i leave.
Sara: I have contradicted with you on this point before and I am going to do it again. If a girl has worked hard enough to earn a seat in a university or a college, she has every right to go ahead and avail the opportunity even if she does not want to continue with it at a latter stage. Someone who has worked hard enough to get there, will not just step out of their career within minutes of finishing their studies.
Witchy, I stand firm on my opinion. If a girl has no intention or desire to work, then whats the point of going through all the headache of applying to schools and stuff? Why not just several bachelors degrees if you really like to learn? Again, its a waste of time, energy and money, nto to mention very selfish, because that seat shes taking up can go to someone else who actually desires to practice what he or she has learned.
Its one thing if someone does get a law or medical degree, but later on decide not to practice it for whatever reason (shaadi, kids, etc); my dad is one case. In this situation, the intention to practice was there when that person applied to those schools, but situation, priorities, likes n dislikes evolve over time, and so do career choices..
