^ A player is signed to PLAY & managers are signed to resolve conflicts on or off the field as far as its official. No manager or even no one else, whether it was Asif or whoever, was asked.

Shoaib is good, no denying that, but to say he is the only bread winner for Pakistan cricket is nothing but shameful and taking credits away from likes of Inzamam, Yousuf etc.

I am talking about class. Like Symonds is a pinch hitter like Afridi and Yuvraj but he ALSO won the ongoing one-day series for Australia in India. And when he falls, Australia falls. This is class for fanatics like you.
As far a bowler in terms of pace, whoever was the fastest bowler before Akhtar or Lee, they made history and no onther bowler even stand close.

Well search about that and enlighten me. In a Test match where a bowler took 5+ wickets (including 3-4 top order batsmen) in less than 20 overs in an innings, its unfair to give all the credit to a batsmen who scored 100+ in that victory.
Australia stands at top in test rankings and their top order holds a LOT of credit for that. Similarly India has been better than Pakistan in tests most of the times, cause their top order is more stable and reliable.
Shoaib is good, no denying that, but to say he is the only bread winner for Pakistan cricket is nothing but shameful and taking credits away from likes of Inzamam, Yousuf etc.

Just as an example, Pakistan has won tests against South Africa ONLY if Akhtar had joined the squad.
But My point is its unfair to exclude & ban Akhtar, while providing favors 2 a lot of other players in terms of selection and contract. I don't mean Inzy or Yousuf or any other player in the team are less than the best. If some1 has made it at national level, then he definitely hold some potential.

Yep ,cricket didn't exist before 2000 .There were no fast bowlers before or fast bowlers with ''class '' before .
The fact is that the ''media '' wasn't that strong before and ''speed guns '' weren't in use vastly before . Or had Akhtar and Lee belonged to that old era ,no one would have cared about them . They would have got accolades like What Thommo got .Not any more than that .

Speed is nothing if proper line and length is not followed according to the batsman you are facing. I remember, even in the beginning, how only one cricketer out of all told shoaib to maintain his line and length while others just told him to bowl fast [hence pakistan losing matches to india... ring a bell????].
Miandad wanted to introduce the stats system in Pakistan [sort of what australia uses, bowl / field according to batsmen hence the most powerful team]. But, people like imran khan booed that idea and it went down the drain completely due the ethnic politics in our team...

Excessive speed is rare talent and preserving & polishing talent is sports management.

^ List a single bowler b4 Akhtar or Lee who was able to get close 2 100m barrier.
Jeff Thomson ,Waqar ,Zahid,even Patrick Patterson, all have crossed 100mph barrier with ''legal action '' .There was no speed gun to measure their speed at their prime . Just because the speed guns are so prevalent nowaday ,don't think that these are the only two guys who threw 100 mph ball.

Akhtar is by no means the greatest fast bowler ever or even the greatest of his generation but even those who are against him can not deny that he is a match winner. We dont have a single bowler who comes in the same class as Akhtar when it comes to being a match winner. No very many bowlers in the world come in the same class. The only fast bowler in the world who could be more dangerous then him is perhaps Shane Bond. Other than that I dont think any other bowler has the ability to run throw batting line ups like Shoaib. He can change the game in one short spell and not very many bowlers have the talent to do that now a days. With all that said he is still not the greatest fast bowler of all time. Many greats in the past have had that ability. Ambrose, Hadlee, Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Marshall, Holding, Garner .. the list goes on.
