So its almost a new entry (300-400 years) old in India by Portuguese.

The Spanish conquistadores soon became aware of the culinary properties of chilli and brought it back to Europe, together with cocoa, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tobacco, maize, beans and turkeys. They also brought it to the Spanish Philipinnes colonies, from where they spread to Asia. The Portuguese brought them to their African and Asiati posessions like India.
